Sonoita Vineyards is the oldest commercial winery in the state of Arizona founded in 1983 by Dr. Gordon Dutt, a former Professor of soil at the University of Arizona. His knowledge of soil vision for seeing a dream from concept all the way to fruition.

We offer a wide array of wines including dry reds to sweet whites, all from Southern Arizona grown grapes.

We recently visited Sonoita Vineyards. This vineyard is the first in Arizona, their knowledge is extensive. The staff is friendly, warm and welcoming. The property is gorgeous, a sight to see as you drive up the long windy driveway with vineyards to the side. If you have the time, take a drive to experience a part of Arizona that most don't know about. Make Sonoita Vineyards your first stop of many...

While traveling Arizona, this vineyard can be found tucked away and framed by some of the most beautiful American landscape available. The workers at the vineyard are very friendly and make you feel right at home. The wine tasting is generously delicious for the nominal fee. The only regret that you may have is that their wine is not available for purchase via mail or web sites. So stock up while you are there!!!

Sonoita vineyards are a great place to sit outside and enjoy the view. The place is very relaxed and beautiful and the patio area outside is ample if you don't want to be part of the noisy indoors when tastings get busy. They have a couple roaming dogs, one of them (Tiger) is featured in some of their bottles. Their tastings have different routes and they feature many of their award-winning wines in several competitions. The tasting lady was very nice and friendly and we enjoyed her company. I was personally not a big fan of any of their wines, but that will obviously differ from person to person. Since there aren't a lot of restaurants in the area, Sonoita Vineyards features a small lunch menu for $12 which is pretty affordable.

Road markings were easy to read and it is easy to find. Great wine selection, especially liked the Sonora Rossa and the Sparkling Peach. The staff was very attentive, informative, and helpful. The tasting room/gift store was well decorated and was conducive to a relaxing experience. Dog Friendly
