It's time for Friday introductions, and a very special one at that! Hi friends, I'm Kristen Green and that lovely lady on the left is Sarah Chancey of Chancey Charm. I'm a wedding publicist + PR educator for creatives! Sarah is a wedding planner, creative mentor + wedding planning educator. We're thrilled to announce that together, we will be co-leading The Rising Tide Society's TuesdaysTogether Atlanta group. We've been blessed with this opportunity to get to pour into the lives and businesses of our creative peers and we couldn't be more excited! We can't wait to meet you in March! Photo: KVC Photography

This morning's LOL-worthy business hack was discovered out of frustration for always running out of black printer ink when I need it most! Did you know that if you take out the empty black ink cartridge, your color cartridge will compensate and print the colors together to make black?! Life changer for this girl boss! It's the simple things!

If you're anything like me, you HATE awkward conversations. Choosing not to work with someone (and letting them know that) is definitely one of those awkward conversations many business owners will have to have when they reach a certain point in their businesses that they are either too busy, or need to say "no" to opportunities that might not be the right fit to say "YES!" to those that are! I'm sharing how to let someone down gently when you don't want to (or can't) work with // Harness Magazine: ow.ly/quoA308Yz8I

Happy birthday to the person who helped Something New for I Do become a reality, my best friend, my mom! Not many people would be able to work with their mom and actually enjoy it. I've been so blessed to be able to have a creative career that allows me the freedom and flexibility to focus on family, and I have her to thank for setting such an example. It's been non-stop fun since founding Something New for I Do, and The Corner District for her, and we're getting to celebrate by working on some exiting projects today and a styled shoot tomorrow (and some glasses of wine). Cheers mom, like fine wine getting better with age, the best is yet to come. I love you!

Getting published is a lengthy process, but it’s so important to do it correctly! Building on my last The Rising Tide Society post, 6 Tips To Get Your Shoots and Weddings Published Every Time, I’m sharing why it’s important to pay attention to the fine print before submitting your styled shoot or wedding. Click for the top eight factors to look out for, but keep in mind that each outlet likely has its own additional requirements: ow.ly/ww0Z308CXQ2

Happy Monday morning, friends! I'd love to share some food for thought + tips for getting published. While each publication or blog is different, most editors prefer that you keep the wedding or event off social media (and your website's blog) until it's published as they like to be the first to feature it. If you're dying to share a sneak peek, which is typically ok if it doesn't give too much away, always ask the editor who is planning to run it first! The last thing you want to do is burn bridges and lose your chance of publication because you overshared on social media.
