Congratulations to Sue's Taxis in Workington - the first all electric taxi in Cumbria despite there being no publicly available charging points near them.   Watch what Sue & Steve had to say about their exciting journey ...  http://www.itv.com/news/border/update/2014-07-11/electric-taxis-the-future-of-transport/

A huge congratulations to Sue's Taxis in Workington for putting Cumbria's first electric taxi on the road. Is it the first in the North West??  We think it is - do you know of another electric taxi in NW England?

Really disappointed to hear from a customer that +Nissan are apparently insisting that +motability customers must have their charging points installed by British Gas.  I've got nothing against BG particularly I'd just like to play on a level playing field.

When I spoke to Motability they said it was a quality issue, that Nissan insisted they use BG and if I wanted I could ask BG to check our work.  Soooo NICEIC and OLEV isn't good enough, nor is the voice of our customers.

So I' m thinking that perhaps I should get British Gas to check out our own charging point, one of almost 200 we've installed in the last 12 months,  which is used daily to charge our Nissan Leaf!

Electric taxis - don't be daft, they haven't got enough range and they aren't big enough ..... are they?

If you ever wondered whether it was tax efficient as well as cost efficient to drive an electric car/van you're not alone.  We asked local accounting bigwigs Armstrong Watson what they thought ....

You don't have to  charge your car at Orton Grange near Carlisle to get a free coffee - anyone can pop in with the voucher from our e-magazine and claim a free coffee before 11.30am but if you do have an electric car - the 32a charge is completely free and powered by wind - how cool is that! http://www.solwayrenewables.com/free-coffee-orton-grange-cafe-gift-shop/

We asked our customers Paul & Debbie Johnston how they were getting on 10 months after they made the move to the Nissan Leaf pure electric car in Cumbria - with hardly any publicly accessible charging points.
