In our last blog, we introduced you to this series, which will discuss what makes an industrial hygienist uniquely qualified to help you with your asbestos, mold, lead or other environmental stressor testing, sampling or investigating needs.  We highlighted the fact:  While some licensed inspectors are industrial hygienists, not all licensed professionals are industrial hygienists.  And, there are differences that make a huge impression on your life.

We won't be repeating those points here.  They've been made.  We want to move forward.

In this blog, we'll introduce you to something that makes industrial hygienists unique, and that's the industrial hygiene program.

We would like to thank attorney and counselor Mr. Gregory Black, with The Black Law Office, for his recent letter of recommendation.  We have been honored to have worked with Mr. Black on several cases involving indoor environmental stressors (e.g., mold) over the years, and have, always, been impressed with the care and attention he gives every one of his clients.

"By arbitrarily directing funds in such a way, employers expect a reduction in frequency and severity of workplace accidents, injuries and illnesses.  This can lead to disappointment, high employee turnaround, and a lack of goal achievement; all of which cost money, reduce productivity, hurt one's competitiveness, can lead to citations, injuries, illnesses or death."

+Jason Yost I should have left a comment when I was here before. What I wonder is don't people especially in
the construction industry realize a safe crew increases productivity in the long run. When  I was partnered in two
construction related businesses both had a safety first culture. In over 14 years there was never a death, or even
a major injury. We had crews walking trusses, pouring concrete below ground, and several stories up. Had roofers
on the roof sometimes after dark. Safety is a learned behavior and a mindset, it has to be learned from the people
"In charge."

All of us have experienced at least one episode of toxicity in our lifetime or know someone (personally or through the media) who has.  Each year thousands of injuries and deaths occur from accidental poisonings, smoke inhalation, or some other situation where someone has been exposed to an environmental stressor.  Exposure might be on a construction site, in a factory, hospital, even our homes.  But, not all situations are recognized for what they are, or that they even exist.

If unlucky that one time toxicity can change ones life. Allergy, autoimmune sickness, asthma and in the long run alzheimers etc. can follow. Mold toxicity can lead to that.

Have you or someone you know ever needed mold, asbestos, lead or some other environmental stressor sampled, tested for or investigated?  Ever wonder what the difference is between a mold inspector, asbestos inspector or some other environmental stressor specific inspector and an industrial hygienist?  Jason begins to discuss these topics and more in a new series:

Insurance adjusting and mold remediation are two separate disciplines and professional responsibilities, so is pre and post testing needed for insurance companies?  Read about it here: http://www.ibosocial.com/solutionsiec/pressrelease.aspx?prid=445886
