One of the most frequent issues centrists run into, often from the right, is this farce that we really don't exist. They try to force us into their cartoonishly oversimplified black & white, left vs right political map, borne from their ideological fairy tales.
Zealots can get so drunk on ideology that they refuse to believe that centrists & moderates don't fit into their left vs right fairy tale, or even exist

We've already had several modern presidents that didn't come from wealth or own businesses, but none without special interest backing, and I have no faith at all that that is going to change in our lifetime.

I was interviewed by a fairly new podcaster named Christian Villiere, about issues related to centrist / moderate politics and the millennial generation. I touch on centrist/moderate party and activism issues (some comments that may rankle some feathers in that part), why I burned out for a while, the old site vs new site, our hyper-partisan culture, generational theft and how younger generations are getting hosed by the political insanity of the last two generations.

If this represents what you actually think about centrists, then it's no wonder you asked such ridiculous questions in that other thread. It's impossible to have a real conversation with someone like you, when so many of the things above have nothing to do with centrists of today, much less liberals or conservatives of today, and your fairy tales about what centrists think or would do are outlandishly stupid.

We're no different than any other area of the spectrum. We just have different opinions - that's all. Quit being so childish, with all of this garbage that makes us out to be some sort of phantom.

What is it about (usually) liberal ideologues and being so quick to toss out the deceptive "false equivalence" card when centrists and moderates point out things they don't like about both sides/parties?

I've begun work on a wiki for centrists and moderates, and one of the sections is for attacks that people in the center regularly come into contact with when debating online.

This first one is one of the most frequent that comes from the left when you say things that amount to both major parties having contributed to some problem, and they come back at you by pretending that you're trying to say that they are just as bad as the other side, like "that's just a false equivalence!"

If you have any suggestions on additions to the page, leave them in the comments on the website. More on the way, and if you have ideas we should cover as the wiki is fleshed out, speak up!
The centrist / moderate false equivalance deception is often is used by ideologues, usually on the left, to avoid honest debate when one points out that both sides are responsible for political issues

Good #website hosting isn't something you want to be cutting corners on - #marketing
The hottest news in the SEO world lately has been that Google now apparently gives websites that use secure socket layers (usually typed as ‘SSL’ – shorthand for a quick crypography layer that makes the connection between a user and a website more secure) a bit of a boost. Google made it clear that it is a weak variable in their ranking algorithm, but in competitive spaces, it might be worth looking into getting it. But while that has sucked so m...

Are you not aware that sharing images to dozens of pages and communities, and vomiting dozens of hashtags in the description, will get it makred as spam?

It's been a while since I did one of these, but this clip nudged me to bring it back.

Santelli's tirade reminded me of a forgotten column I used to do, called 'Wingnut of the Week'. He certainly takes the cake from what I've seen this week.

I touch on something more substantive at the end, namely how responsible media outlets are who give these freaks a microphone, and access to their audiences. It is such a shame that CNBC would even consider letting someone like him on their program. I'd actually consider paying for cable again if there was a channel devoted to news that actually stuck to hard news, only had on serious people, for substantive discussions, and barred cranks.

There just plain isn't anything out there like that right now, that I'm aware of. Not even at the fringes. PBS is the closest, but most of the day is filled with content other than news.
Tea Party spark Rick Santelli goes full wingnut on CNBC, and gets owned by commentator Steve Leisman, pointing out how dead wrong his predictions had been.

Not what this is about at all, but I sort of agree.... although evolution and global warming aren't moral issues - they're scientific, or rather lack thereof in the case of some republicans.

Worst service I've ever had at a bar. The bartender should have been fired. He literally took my friends' drink right out of his hand as he was downing it at last call, before 2am and with a couple dozen other people still finishing drinks. Instead of punishing or firing him, the owners defended him and just said we could have a free beer, as if I'll ever go in there again. I suppose this is what you get when a place gets popular and owners' who's get inflated and no longer give a shit about customers. Would give negative stars if I could.

Leo's is better in every way, and the fish I made the mistake of ordering from there a while back had bristles in it, presumably from the tool they use to scrape thr griddle. Only reason they get two stars instead of one is the staff is nice.
