We also know that a lack of sleep will lead to an increased development of a toxic protein in the brain that is called beta-amyloid and that is associated with Alzheimer's disease because it is during deep sleep at night when a sewage system within the brain actually kicks in to high gear and it starts to wash away this toxic protein, beta-amyloid.
So if you're not getting enough #sleep each and every night, more of that Alzheimer's-related protein will build up. The more protein that builds up, the greater your risk of going on to develop dementia in later life. #snorestop #sleephealth #stopsnoring

If you suffer from a bad night's sleep, you are likely to feel tired the next day as your body hasn't had an opportunity to repair cells and restore usual brain functions. A bad night's sleep could be a result of a late night, a restless night or an inability to fall asleep.
"However, it's important to remember that it is not only the number of hours you sleep that is important, but the quality of your sleep that will determine how tired you feel during the day. #snorestop #sleephealth #stopsnoring

Once you’ve had a good solid night’s sleep, everything feels better. You are more awake and focused. You don’t feel so sluggish on that morning run. It’s so much easier to steer clear of the chocolate aisle in the supermarket. Clean sleeping might just be exactly what we need. As Stanley says, “every night we have the opportunity to take an eight-hour holiday. It costs nothing and it makes us feel great, yet we don’t do it because there’s more exciting things to do.” #sleephealth #snorestop

Sleep groaning is classified as a parasomnia, which is a fancy term for unwanted behaviors, actions, or thoughts that occur while we’re falling asleep, sleeping, or waking up. Sleepwalking and sleep talking are other parasomnias. Sleep groaning may sound like a snore, but its cause is different. A snore happens when you inhale. You take a breath in, and the relaxed muscles and tissues in your windpipe vibrate, causing that buzzing noise. A sleep groan, on the other hand, happens when you exhale. And one groan can last anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute. #stopsnoring #snorestop #sleephealth

Getting enough #sleep is important for attention and learning during our waking hours. When we are sleep deprived, we can't focus on large amounts of information or sustain our attention for long periods. Our reaction times are slowed. We are also less likely to be creative or discover hidden rules when trying to solve a problem. #stopsnoring #snorestop

Sleep deprivation (classified as getting less than 7 hours of sleep a night) has been linked to a host of diseases including Alzheimer's, cancer, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, stroke, hyperglycemia, and poor mental health, among other health issues. Allow me to press a bit more. After just one night of only four or five hours sleep, your natural killer cells (the ones that attack the cancer cells that appear in your body every day) drop by 70 percent. #sleephealth #snorestop

The fact that Alzheimer’s deaths have increased by an incredible 50 percent since 1999, together with the struggle that many of us have in getting a good night’s sleep, means this is something we need to get to the bottom of – and fast. #sleephealth #snorestop

A big reason #sleep is so interrupted in the modern world is technology. With phones, televisions, computers begging for attention at all times, it can be hard to unplug. If you are sleeping next to a snorer-its even worse as your sleeping pattern is interrupted throughout the night preventing you from going into deep sleep. #snorestop #stopsnoring
