For Thank You cards, stationery, invitations, there is no other paper in the world like the silky, pen-perfect handmade sheets from Velke Losiny Mill (Czech)
This is one of the most luxurious papers in the world. Silky to the touch, perfect surface sizing for fountain or any writing instrument. Handmade in the centuries old Velke Losiny mill in the Czech Republic.

Wrapping up with a 3000 card run for +El Blok Hotel (Puerto Rico)
"Zen of Letterpress" template with client supplied logo. The caption font is my own sans, Quanta Bold & Light. I spend time on each card layout, visually finessing the type, letter spacing, phone numbers, etc.

We get 12- 2"x3.5" cards out of an 8x13" press sheet, or 120 cards from each 26x40 parent sheet.
That's 840 sq inches of finished product out of 1040, less than 20% wasted, which is very little! Many shops end up recycling half of their stock or more!

+Stephen Boss  Here's the set up. "Hidden Treasure" 4 inch goat hair with horn handle. Various other brushes, etc.
The large ink stone is a piece of Welsh slate (from an expedition to the quarries in North Wales when I studied calligraphy with +Ieuan Rees in the early 1980s), originally intended as an ashtray, I think ;-)
It's not big enough for the 4" brush of course, thus the stainless bowl in the back...

Pen drawn letters. The ink is coffee colored, café inspired doodles. w/vintage Parker fountain pen. When I saw +Sumner Stone's recent drawing of his lovely new Arepo font, I remembered the Esna sketch I did some time ago. "Pastries" more recently...
