MAKERS OF SLOP FROG AND MENDOTA RIG INTRODUCE C TO C BAIT CO.
Growing Artisan Bait Manufacturer Bringing Products Under One Roof
Beaver Dam, Wisconsin –   February 11, 2016 –C to C Bait Co. is a family business and two family member’s names will now be associated with all of its products.
Makers of the innovative Mendota Rig and weed-less Slop Frog, the C to C company name has been in the background since the business was founded in 2014. To husband and wife team, Steve and Amy McQuin, however, the name is close to their hearts.  “Our kids names are Chloe and Calvin and we wanted a name that both made sense for the business and was relevant to our products.” said Amy.
In 2014, C to C re-introduced the Slop Frog, a successful frog bait originally brought to market by creator and tournament angler, Jim Torgerson.  At the time, Slop Frog was the only product line so it made sense to have that brand be the focus of the company. “Slop Frog had some name recognition in the Midwest and fans from all around the U.S. really connected with the brand.” said Steve.
In 2015, C to C introduced another Torgerson design, the Mendota Rig. The Mendota Rig is a unique, high-performance lure for tournament and recreational fisherman of all ages and skill levels. It has surpassed expectations and has fans across the U.S. and globally.
In 2016, C to C is manufacturing and distributing a line of jigs, under the brand name “Custom Cast”.  The Custom Cast jigs were designed by tournament angler Brad Lutz and they complement the Slop Frog and Mendota Rig to form an arsenal of top notch bass baits.
With three product lines, Steve McQuin (Mac) knows the time is right to bring all the products under the family brand. “When you are a one product company, the product is your brand. We knew we would have multiple product lines had this plan in mind from the beginning.” said McQuin.
The Slop Frog, Mendota Rig and Custom Cast Jigs will all be available at ctocbaits.com and at a growing number of dealers. The web site and Social Media sites will get a facelift and highlight all the products under the C to C brand.
C to C Bait Co. will continue adding innovative products and expanding existing product lines to target multiple species of fish. “Walleye and pan fishing are on our radar and ice fishing is part of a longer term strategy. The main thing is to stay true to our brand of American made artisan products. Anglers trust themselves and other talented anglers when it comes to what works.  Our products are all designed, manufactured and used by American anglers.”  said McQuin.
As for the company’s namesake, Chloe, 13 and Calvin, 9 are learning all about the business.  Chloe helps with data entry and she and Cal both help assemble and package baits. Calvin will be also be talking with customers at upcoming spring trade shows.
Amy McQuin knows C to C’s customers are in good hands. “We are our customers. We love to fish, and know what works. We also know the importance of high quality and customer service. Everyone is really looking forward to the season.”
