We are currently working on a refurbishment in Sidcup, Kent.  We are completely transforming the layout of the first floor.  Taking it from 3 bedrooms (two doubles and box room) and bathroom, to 4 bedrooms (two small doubles and two box rooms) and a larger bathroom.  We are doing this by re-configuring the internal walls, and adding pocket sliding doors.  This is a fantastic way to add extra bedrooms to a property without adding an extension.  We will also be replacing windows, plastering, and installing a new bathroom in the property.

We have recently started refurbishment works at a property in Brockley. The refurbishment will include structural alterations to create an open plan area, as well as fitting a new kitchen, bathroom and with full re-plastering. #refurbishmentcompany# #brockleyrenovations#

We have recently finished a two bedroom, and shower room conversion in Brockley, SE4, South East London. We also lowered the ceilings on the first floor, to give extra height to the Loft Rooms. Sometimes clients can be concerned about losing the ceiling height over bay windows. The pictures below show how this height can remain, whilst still lowering the ceilings. The shower room also featured a bespoke cupboard, built by us. #loftconversionbrockley #loweredceilingsloftconversion

We are currently in the process of finishing a flat conversion in Brockley, South East London. This Box Dormer conversion will be a one bedroom and shower room, adding another floor and extra space to to the flat. The flat was in a conservation area in SE4, and we completed all planning applications and structural drawings on the clients behalf. If you own a flat and are thinking of converting your Loft space, take a look below for the rules on planning. #planningpermissionbrockley

Planning Permission
Planning permission may not be required if it is only internal works. However, local interpretation can vary and you should contact your local planning authority for advice.

Permission is required where you extend or alter the roof space.

You should also check whether you own the roof space which you wish to convert. If you are a leaseholder, you may need to get permission from your landlord, freeholder or management company.

If your flat is a listed building it is likely you will need listed building consent and you should contact your local planning authority for advice before you start work. Works to a listed building that affect its special historic character without consent is a criminal offence.

If your flat is in a conservation area and your proposals involve an element of demolition then you may need to apply for planning permission for relevant demolition in a conservation area and you should contact your local planning authority for advice.

Building Regulations
Building regulations approval is required to convert a loft or attic into a liveable space.
