So, the question is, will Matt still keep up the G+ page as well or just FB?

This is right around when I started watching the show. While the thought of being 13 again is horrifying, this is an incredible time capsule - even as chopped up as it is.

Ripped some audio from another old cassette in the Slicing Up Eyeballs tape archive. This time it's Richard Blade interviewing Depeche Mode during the infamous Wherehouse in-store on the 'Violator' release date, 25 years ago this Friday.

The catch? It's a U.K.-only Record Store Day release limited to 1,000 copies.

And now, Johnny Marr does Depeche Mode — the studio version.

What do you think?

The Legacy of '80s College Rock
Introduction
Established in February 2009 and based in Denver, Colo., Slicing Up Eyeballs celebrates the legacy of ’80s college, modern and indie rock, the music — once relegated to campus radio, pioneering commercial stations like San Diego’s 91X and the Sunday night ghetto of MTV’s “120 Minutes” — that paved the way for Nirvana and the alternative revolution.

Slicing Up Eyeballs publishes news items daily about new album releases, reissues, box sets, tours, reunions and other activity by ’80s college rock bands, their spinoffs and their individual members, as well as video clips both new and archival, and streaming and downloadable audio. The site also hosts regular contests with prizes provided by record companies, publicists and publishers, and posts a monthly mixtape for readers’ downloading pleasure.

Since November 2010, Slicing Up Eyeballs also has hosted a weekly show on Strangeways Radio. The hour-long program, spotlighting songs new and old by ’80s college rock veterans, airs every Tuesday at 10 p.m. EST and repeats every Friday at 2 p.m. EST on strangewaysradio.com.

And, if you’re still wondering, the name comes from the lyrics to the Pixies’ “Debaser.”
