My only experience was with the Mayweather vs. Paq fight. I found the staff to be a little rude and the pricing was a bit ridiculous (obviously for the fight, but... after paying $25 to get in). Paid $32 for one round of drinks and was charged about $55-57 for the next round for the same 2 basic drinks and 1 beer. Overall, slate is a nice place with respect to the layout/design and feel of the bar. I'd be willing to try out the pool/billiards side of it at another time, but I'm not going to be running back any time soon.

I went for my friend birthday celebration and for the happy hour. There have the happy hour from 5pm to 8pm on a Friday night where you get for $3 domestic drafts, $4 a well mix drink, and $6 house wines. The appetizers were not that bad, I had a few bites from my friends. Music was good the DJ Hits, a few old songs, few new songs, many remix, bachata, rap, reggae and hip-hop the DJ did a great job to entertain the public. There are a few TV and a big screen, where there was playing the knicks vs nets game (to bad Knicks lost again lol). Downstairs they have boards tables game; pool and ping pong, mini soccer and darts and others.

If you go to Slate, which I wouldn't recommend, stay far away from Gisely S. She's a waitress for the tables downstairs who is rude and sucks at her job. I'm literally still waiting for waters I ordered from her a week ago. Icing on the cake, she gave my card to another patron. Lastly, the manager Jimmy won't help when this happens so you will just be stuck with a cancelled account and no card until the next business day/whenever your bank sends a replacement. Sounds like a great time, right? Yeah, I didn't think so.

The SLATE's Sunday Fun-day event is the place to be on Sundays ! A cool chill place to sit back with friends to watch the games on the BIG TV screens .Its amazing how much there is to do under one roof (i.e ping pong,Pool, beer pong). The service was GREAT & FAST ! Def would go back for again especially for the food and drinks : )

I don't know if I fully understand this place. It feels like a club but when I went during the week it seemed that it was an event space with multiple parties. I came here for their wednesday American Horror story screening for which they put up circus decorations, offer drink and appetizer specials, and free cotton candy and popcorn. I had a great time and the staff was very acomodating.

Celebrated my brother's 25th birthday here last night and had a great time. I'm someone who loves the club scene, my brother not so much. So it was the perfect place for us because some of our group was enjoying the club atmosphere upstairs while the others enjoyed the lounge and pool hall downstairs. You're able to come and go as you please so you don't necessarily feel separated. It was perfect. Problems I had were not huge, just a little irritating. The staff was very confusing. They were strict one second, super accommodating the next, then strict again. It was strange. The table process was very quick which I appreciated. Huge table with everything provided. Bottle girl was very nice but she apparently didn't know how to use a card because she told me my card wasn't working so I paid her with cash. However, I used my card at the bar later that night with no problems and definitely had more than enough funds on the card. So I'm not sure what she did. Final problem was that they close the pool hall floor early but they will let you finish your game first which was fine. BUT during that time I went upstairs for 5 minutes to walk a friend out and they REFUSED to let me back downstairs. Wasn't sure why the guard didn't let me know before I went out. So I awkwardly stood at the stairs waiting as the party I planned ended. (I sarcastically high-fived the guard and the doorgirl for being douchebags before I left). I still give the place 4/5 stars because all of my problems were typical "annoying staff at the club" problems that you're going to find everywhere in NYC. Other than that, the DJ was amazing, the crowd was fun and trendy. It had the perfect club/lounge/bar ratio. The place was beautiful and we had tons of fun! I recommend for birthdays and double/group dates.

Recently came here for their Wednesday night American Horror Story viewing party and had a blast! Not only was there FREE popcorn and cotton candy to munch on all night, but their drink specials were a fantastic deal! Although we didn't order any food they had appetizer and small bite deals as well - definitely going to be checking out their fare in the future! It wasn't too crowded so my friends and I were able to spread out and had a great view of all the giant TV's! Every seat was a great one! We had heard about this place from a fellow colleague and will definitely be stopping by again on Wednesday evening's to watch AHS on the reg! Overall a fun spot to hit up with friends!
