There's a broad point to be made here: You've got a role in society which is assigned to you, at birth, by a range of elements beyond your control. Your gender, your race, your sexual orientation, etc. all come with expectations about who you should be. And we naturally try to fit ourselves into those expectations, because we're afraid we'll be socially ostracized if we don't.
These expectations put a greater burden on some groups than others. Women, for instance, suffer from sexual objectification and violence because the male gender role encourages that. Black people suffer greater violence because of the expectation that they are dangerously violent themselves. But this doesn't mean that things are good for other groups. They're merely less bad.
We should all be on board with fixing this, because it's not actually good for anybody.
Despite this, Texas Governor Abbott continues his witch hunt against women's health.
