Tu quoques are not a compelling device in political rhetoric. The whole point of democratic choice is having a better option, isn't it?

Diversity of superficial traits without diversity of opinions is like having a box of chocolates in a variety shapes, each with various colors and styles of wrappers, but inside they're all just nuggat.

It puzzles me that anybody is baffled by the poor business decisions YouTube, Twitter, and others are making these days. When Ken Ham commissioned the Ark Encounter, his motives should have been very clear to bystanders. He has a strong, dogmatic religious bias that overrides financial concerns. Likewise, when ANY ideological dogma is applied to business (or fed as biased information to business stakeholders), some causes of otherwise nonsensical and self-defeating executive decisions start to come into focus.

One of the most noble things a human being can do is to overcome adversity with grace and not only survive it, but come out better for it.

Who we were by and large predetermines the decisions we make. Yet it is through our choices that we can transcend who we were. Paradoxical.

“Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.”
― Theodore Roosevelt

Using evil means to do "good" only ends in sorrow.

Every day we must struggle against the darkness. It's part of life. Sometimes it comes from without, at other times from within. Never stop.

Today I will try to be a better person than I was yesterday. Wish me luck.
