My performance last weekend on the Blueprint New Music Series at the SF Conservatory. Thanks to Ryan Brown, composer; Nicole Paiement, conductor; The New Music Ensemble, SF Conservatory; Sidney Chen, bass; and Eric Tuan, tenor. You were all excellent!

I won't quite say rewatching this 1983 Metropolitan Opera Centennial Gala video makes me depressed over the current state of singing at the Met and many of our world stages, but it surely brings nostalgia for a time and artistry not often heard these days. Each of these amazing performers gave a staggering, masterful performance. Wow, just wow.

She's a good singer--and he absolutely knows how to enhance the vocal. Well done Marian Hill.

I believe the alto is Ingeborg Danz. I've performed in the chorus of several Bach works in which she was the alto soloist; we were all mesmerized by every minute of her singing. What an artist.

Introduction
asana = to sit/hold a posture

SingAsana = the “posture” of greatest ease and vitality for singing

Justin Montigne – singer, voice teacher, and registered yoga teacher – teaches workshops, classes, and private lessons in the Bay Area and around the country. Justin’s interest in the free and easy alignment of body and instrument led him to yoga, which helped revolutionize his singing and teaching. He hopes to share the same tools he discovered with singers and players everywhere.
