Amazing pictures of frozen soap bubbles :-)

For those of you creative types stuck at home with little ones ...
I'd totally attempt this if Australia wasn't sweltering most months of the year!

Google Reader is a source of information for offline reading, low bandwidth and a way to defeat censorship - things the first world Google obviously doesn't value. In many other countries where Google's advertising returns probably aren't high it's clearly a very valuable platform for these reasons. #reader #savegooglereader

Fireworks which is "Hanabi" in Japanese literally translates to Fire Flower. That's exactly what this shot reminds me of. Taken Australia Day 2013, Mornington Peninsula.

Hey Peter, I had that exact same camera and I am not entirely sure it was better than this, even after the filter....

It is hard to believe Google wanted to drive away and alienate so many users.  500,000 move to feedly, over 130,000 signatures on change.org protesting... these are big numbers.  Are we to hear nothing from Google on this?  Is this Google's true nature?  Arrogant?  Ignoring the feedback of core users?

Looks like the petition will have more than 100,000 signatures within the next day or so - already over 80,000. What will it take to make Google listen?

Interesting interview with PrimeSense, who are behind MS Kinect, showing off their next generation technology with use cases in retail analytics.

The world-changing 3D sensor we saw at CES

You've seen 3D sensors before. In the Microsoft Kinect, for instance. That sensor's design was licensed to Microsoft by +PrimeSense

This year, though, we visited Primesense to get a look at its latest 3D sensor. What is big about it? First of all, it's small. Small enough to fit into tablet PCs. Second of all, it's lower cost. Will sell for under $100. Third of all it's more accurate and higher resolution than the one in Kinect (it is so accurate it can tell how hard you are pressing on a surface).

What does this mean? Well, we got several demos of what 3D sensing can do. Learn more at http://www.primesense.com/

Also, listen into this audio interview we did with the founder: https://soundcloud.com/scobleizer/the-freaky-future-of-3d

Why is this world changing? Because nothing can track human behavior quite as well as a 3D sensor. Expect to see these start to appear everywhere. In cars. In games. In tablets and TVs. And more.

I guess.. speech can be very precise, but it can also be pretty vague too. Gestures seem more inherently vague to me, but I imagine there are more precise cases too.
