This new G+ design looks, well, a bit like a rubbish Facebook design. If you want me, I'm mostly on Twitter, frankly.

Tiny hole-in-the-wall naan (or "nan" apparently) bakery on Walthamstow's High Street (home of the market also). A bloke just slaps the dough around, puts it straight onto the oven and makes your naans right in front of you. 3 garlic ones for a quid, or 4 plain, or 2 sesame. Flavour's amazing and so fresh. The same place now also does Turkish pizzas and falafel wraps (in the naans) for ludicrously cheap prices. Best falafels in the area, and best lunchtime deal around too.

Stunning, tucked away, locals beach. Sea/tide is quite rough with a steep slope to the beach, there are no facilities at all, and the climb down to the beach isn't easy for little ones, but the sand, the views, the lack of hordes more than makes up.

Hidden away in a goods yard looking out over the Lea to a small stretch of the Olympic Park, this pizza/microbrewery beer haven's one of the best things about east London. Yes, the serving staff and much of the clientele lean towards the Hackney hipster. And the music occasionally takes a dive into so-ironic-its-actually-rubbish (UB40 Greatest Hits, anyone?). But the place is never less than friendly, even to a bunch of middle-aged-men in lycra who rock up on bikes. And, well, the pizza and beer. The beer is universally lauded - brewed on the premises and flipping great. The pizza - new-wave in ingredients - is less universally loved. Me? I love 'em - tasty, hot, reasonably priced. Sure, they're not classic approaches to pizza. But they're great. Mates of mine have complained they're too flavoured (ie some ingredients so strong-tasting they drown out the overall flavours etc.). They're certainly not subtle, but to my palate, they wash down with the beer just lovely.
