If you're in Singapore on Feb 16th, why not join us for an extra-special #SataySocial as we celebrate #SocialMediaWeek . The event is open to everyone, and is a great chance to meet like-minded people over freshly barbecued satay skewers and prawns, some of the world's best hawker food, and plenty of Tiger beer and sugar cane juice to wash it all down. This is interesting - Facebook seem to be advocating a shift to more individual, one-to-one brand communications with the roll-out of Private Messages for Pages

As this infographic shows, the average US Social Gamer is a women in her 40s, with almost 80% of Social Gamers aged 30 or over. Impressive stuff, but given that the Social Gaming market in Asia is so many times larger, what's the average Asian Social Gamer look like? We explore: http://bit.ly/wRdz1M #socialgaming #socialmedia #Asia

9 times out of 10, I'll check a candidate's social media presence - especially Linkedin - before I read their CV. Is this because I work in digital marketing, or is it a trend you're experiencing too?
Some companies are skipping résumés, saying the staid requirement doesn't provide much depth about a job candidate.

Sounds good but bullshit really. I think back on all the bandwagons I thought I was too late for... well I wasn't. 99% of other people still didn't know about them. Unless of course you're talking about something that's been around for years, only you haven't noticed. If that's the case, pay more attention

Story
Introduction
Hello! I'm Simon, a Scotsman in Singapore

By day I'm managing director of We Are Social in Singapore, and spend most of my time exploring new and exciting ways for brands to connect with the people they care about most. I'm particularly interested in the ways in which mobile devices will change how we interact with the world around us.

By night, I'm eski, my DJ alter-ego. My radio show is broadcast every Wednesday evening at 9pm EST on ETN.fm, or you can listen to a wide selection of my mixes on my Facebook or Mixcloud pages.

I'm also the founder of The Cartel, a collective that helps talented young DJs and producers from all over the world to get the audience they deserve. Find out more on our Facebook page, or take a listen on our Mixcloud page.

Apart from my love of music, I'm a huge fan of street food, and I'm on a constant quest for the world's most interesting dishes - hopefully with a healthy serving of social serendipity along the way.

You'll find me as eskimon on most social sites around the web:
