How a yearly release cycle could improve the Android experience

Is Google finally getting into an annual groove with regard to Android updates? Does it make a difference to OEMs, developers, and Android users? We take a look at the pros and cons.

I want developers to basically leverage the innovation. I don't want developers to have to predict the innovation.' If you look at the Android version history, you...

Post by +Simon Hill
We can be pretty confident that Google will be launching Android M at Google I/O next week, after it was accidentally mentioned in an Android for Work event schedule. As Android continues to mature with each new version it's getting harder to predict what's up next. We don't expect a major overhaul this time around, but there's definitely still work to be done. We know very little about Android M so far. It seems a safe bet that there will be ...

I'm obsessed with technology and I write about it
Introduction

I live in Edinburgh and work full time as a freelance writer and editor. I have a number of my own websites and I also work for various clients in print and on the web. I am passionate about technology, especially mobile devices and video games.

I worked in the games industry where I started out as a games tester at VIS Entertainment working on titles like State of Emergency then I worked for Outerlight as a producer and game designer on titles like The Ship.

I worked as a Managing Editor at Bright Hub covering the mobile technology space and I worked as a Creative Director at Rock The Deadline providing content marketing for software and tech companies.

I still have a passionate obssession with gaming. When I'm not working or gaming I like to surf. I'm also a big fan of horror movies.
