26-Sep-2014: Good news for European flyers!
Dec 2013: initial action from EASA, ‘Airplane Mode’ was allowed.
Sep 2014: airlines allowed to permit PEDs to stay switched on, without the need to be in ‘Airplane Mode’ (at airline's discretion).
Future: "enabling airlines the ability to offer ‘gate-to-gate’ telecommunication or WiFi services."

Flash Player is dead. Its time has passed. It's buggy. It crashes a lot. It requires constant security updates. It doesn't work on most mobile devices. It's a fossil, left over from the era of closed standards and unilateral corporate control of web technology. Websites that rely on Flash present a completely inconsistent (and often unusable) experience for fast-growing percentage of the users who don't use a desktop browser. It introduces some scary security and privacy issues by way of Flash cookies.

Flash makes the web less accessible. At this point, it's holding back the web.
The movement to rid the world of the Flash Player plugin

Is it worth buying the Nintendo 3DS with a slashed down price of $170/£160/€180?

Well, perhaps you need to distract your careless kid from your precious superphone/tablet? Or just stay away, as gently I can say: you have to invest a small fortune in games and accessories, yet they have a short lifespan. Tablets and smartphones are a little less powerful than the actual generation of consoles, however they're lighter, easier and safer to mod, more durable and have a wider range of uses.

Yep, the price of 3DS dropped worldwide 30% effective 2 weeks ago, but that happened after its sales stalled at 4.3 million units sold since Feb/11 launch.

The manufacturing cost of 3DS is $103.25, according to iSuppli.

What's your word?
