Unimpressed. Maybe I have stayed at too many high end resorts but this one doesn't have much going for it. Everyone is friendly and helpful so that's a plus. Rooms are small unless you get a suite, property has 1970s vibe, mansion is OK, but if gala is in basement prepare to hear everything above you. If looking for hotel amongst the grapes, try Fairmont Mission Inn, in Sonoma. Same price range but much nicer.

We've been vacationing at the Silverado Resort since 2005. We love the resort and will return again but we'll never again use Crown Vacation Rentals, however. Normally we book directly through the hotel but this year we saw an "attractive" rate through Crown and booked it hoping to save a few bucks. Big mistake! Yes, their basic room rate is a bit lower than the hotel's but you end up PAYING EVEN MORE once they tack on their numerous, inflated fees & charges. To add insult to injury, when I called Crown to inquire about the absence of housekeeping (even though they tacked on $41 per night for "Cleaning/Linen Fees") I was scolded that actual housekeeping would be extra. Also, be forewarned that Crown renters are NOT CONSIDERED HOTEL GUESTS and as such are charged steep daily fees to use the pool and spa facilities. Lesson learned -- the hard way!

I disliked it a great deal. The photos made it seem like the rooms were great. They were not. (I hope the photographer was well paid because they did a great job of making a very normal room look wonderful) The room and hotel would have been fine if we were paying a regular amount for the room but I wanted to splurge on something nicer and was so disappointed. Unless you are getting a tremendous deal, stay elsewhere. I took about 2 hours to decide what hotel and room I wanted so it would be special for the last day of our vacation and was really disappointed when we arrived. Everything in the lobby and our room was a little dated and shabby (and we were in a newly remodeled room). The TV stand and bathroom cabinet were either from the older style rooms or just really not a good choice for the VERY small room. It was loud and I could hear our neighbors until 2 in the morning. They weren't being loud or partying, just talking on a phone and it still caused me to lose sleep. Our room was really far from the main area and the near pool area did not have a hot tub. With the many photos of pools and hot tubs I assumed we would be near a hot tub. We even bought swim suits prior to arrival so we could soak. We would have had to drive to use it it was so far away. Also the check-in was awkward. The agent said something along the lines of, "Oh, you booked just the standard room?" Like i was some hobo who couldn't afford the actual nice rooms. For the rate I paid, I could have stayed at almost any of the other hotels in town and I wish I would have. The icing on the cake was they charged my card the full amount even though the Front Desk agent explained I had already paid via 3rd party. It isn't a big deal and I know mistakes happen but when I called to get it fixed, before I could even give them my name or explain what i needed, I was put on hold by three separate people and eventually the last person just set down the phone and I got to listen to them doing checkouts for 10 minutes before i hung up. To compliment the housekeeping staff, the room was very clean.
