OK, so I just shared some honest spam on here (shouted out a client's announcement while disclosing the nature of the relationship). I decided not to publicly publish, instead opting for industry people and close friends, figuring them to be more understanding or forgiving, respectively. After selecting the appropriate circles (using the Chrome +1 plugin), I was about to hit share when I caught the checkbox (checked by default) to email 9 people not on G+ with the message.
OK, caught in time, but UGH.
I'm well past the point of using Google because it's awesome. I use it because it's ubiquitous (not saying that's a good reason...actually I AM saying that it's not a good reason).
I remember Eric Schmidt saying in an interview that if Google ever violated its users' trust, they would simply stop using its services, and it would stop making money. I thought he was right on. Don't anymore (not just because this).
