A Trophy for a Tiny Princess  She may not have scored a lot of points playing basketball this year, but her infectious spirit warmed the hearts of all of those who watched. In a Christian program called "Upward", the trophies were not the prize. The prize was the fun of playing with other children, not to win, but simply to play.

Don't wear out your welcome. My mom has said on various occasions that "even family begins to smell after 3 days". Hmm, sometimes in just one or two. And, sometimes, never at all.

Ice globes encapsulate the pink blossoms of blueberries. Beautiful work by mother nature revealing a mixture of tragedy and grace.

+Rebecca Brister Yes, too fleeting and so few to stop by and see it. It's a wonderful thing that mother nature doesn't care if no one is there to see her creations or not. She just lays her beauty out there for the sake of beauty itself. Thanks for your very appropriate comment, Rebecca.

A Hole in the Roof lets the gray light of winter into a room unused for an untold number of years. The discoloration of the door and walls is unfortunate, but beautiful and mysterious. Layers of paint depict layers of lives lived in this deserted house. History awaits discover as mother nature reclaims what is hers.

OK, so why is that I kinda feel connected with this old, dilapidated house?

Spiderman stops by for a visit. He is much smaller in real life than I imagined, but, who am I to say?

Ice Storm  Mother Nature often buffets the habitats of humans with her more destructive elements, causing inconvenience and some danger. However, her climatic forces also bring a new dimension to the beauty of her creations. Such is the case with the recent ice storm here in the South. Stark, contrasting blues and blacks are not normally experienced when it's sunny and fair outside. So, I was happy to witness her workings.
