I suspect I just missed something kitty ears thought was important.

Two delicious pieces of Jonai Farms pork - one loin roast (cooked sous vide, then with the fat sliced off + crisped under the grill), the other the last of the giant pork sausages on a pizza. <3

Yeah, often Degg doesn't play at all, but we had him going for a bit..

This is what it's like in the car with Mocha, except instead of 18 seconds, it goes for 3+ hours, and instead of being a metre away, sometimes she'd come and sit on my shoulder and meow directly into my ear.

I had a couple of lovely friends over for lunch today so I made a bit of a spread :)
Drink was Rhubarb-ginger-lime cooler http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2014/06/alcohol-free-mocktail-rhubarb-ginger-lime-cooler-drink-recipe.html
Salmon was this Miso Black Cod recipe (but with salmon) - http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2013/12/easy-broiled-miso-marinated-black-cod.html
The Hasselback Potato Gratin is from here - http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2013/12/hasselback-potato-gratin-casserole-holiday-food-lab.html
Chickpea salad from here, minus the lamb (but plus the spice rub that is meant to go on the lamb) - http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2013/03/skillet-lamb-chops-harissa-spinach-chickpeas-recipe.html
and finally this Spicy Thai salad with beans and pomelo - http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2014/11/spicy-thai-pomelo-green-bean-zucchini-salad-recipe.html   (oh, and I put that with the roasted duck meat, from maryland cuts done this way: http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2014/10/pan-roasted-chicken-vegetables-dijon-jus-recipe.html

It turns out it took a while longer than I expected to 'supreme' the pomelo but when I tried it with an orange and lime to garnish the rhubarb drink it was much easier :)

Then we played Love Letter and Carcassone and I think everyone had a great time :)

They take turns going back and forth. They're like a Led Zeppelin concert!

It was TOO HOT on the weekend so the cats were pretty flopped out.

Used a Scoopon for a four course meal, very full afterwards! Waitress cooked our meats and some veg at the table for us, while the normally-served salads, sides, dessert and entree were also tasty. Cocktails are also great value.

The confit duck was super-salty (and I like a bit of salt in my meals) - if we hadn't been sharing it it would have been inedible. The black salt rib steak was pricey but huge, but didn't seem salty at all (at odds with our earlier experience). Served with 'crushed potatoes' that tasted reheated, and quite a lot of firm broccolini. The Beef and guiness pie had lovely pastry and very tender beef, served with quite large baby carrots and broccolini. For dessert we tried the bourbon soaked raisins, beetroot and pecan cake, with bourbon cream - imagine a carrot cake but made with beetroot (similar spices), plus soaked raisins on the side, and a garnish of sweetened cream with a bourbon syrup in the middle. Very tasty, good result overall.

Nice bed, with office chairs, one slightly-loungey-chair and the bed+extra pillows. Television a little tricky to get started (remote + on off switch under the TV required). Only a shower, no bath, but given that it's an apartment with cooking equipment (kettle, stovetop, microwave) and utensils provided, it would be a great Business-type stopover. It's a wee bit out of the city grid (one or two blocks), but so close to Vic Market that it'd be awesome value for a tourist. Breakfast buffet average (bacon, tomato, chicken sausage, hash browns, scrambled eggs, bread/toast) but they also had pikelets (baby pancakes) and three varieties of soaked dried fruit (apricot, prune or rhubarb), and some yoghurt or plain cereal options.

Big breakfast was enough, but not really 'big'. One piece toast, one piece bacon, half a chorizo, 2.5 mushrooms and some spinach. Components all fine. Ricotta pancakes fine, but cinnamon cream mismatched with 'fruits of the forest' (frozen berries) accompaniment. Small square of fudge served with coffee superb, but not available for purchase yet. Lemon curd tart and Yo yo taken for afternoon tea fine, but yo yo maybe could have been sweeter. Huge for the price ($4) though.

Convenient, fast, great food and innovative, not just producing your standard chips and dim sims by any means.
