My daughter, sister-in-law and I compared the Colombian Zelandia Bold to the Italian Blend. We found the Colombian coffee to be bold, strong, and quite fragrant. The coffee is dark and robust and ever so slightly bitter—as you would expect to taste in a dark roast. The coffee is strong but enjoyable, especially first thing in the morning. The three of us enjoyed it. The Italian Blend is a medium blend. The Brûlerie FARO tasting notes claim the coffee is usually blended for espresso, but I found it to be milder than the Colombian Zelandia Bold coffee and most espresso brands that I’ve tried. It too is strong, dark, and robust, yet it’s smooth and leaves behind not a hint of bitterness. The three of us agreed that the Italian Blend is our favorite of the two but both blends are enjoyable.
