Susan, as I re-enter the writing part of my life, I will be reconstructing my memoir. While recovering, I read my last draft and I didn't like the portrayal I had written of my mother. Yes, she was abusive. Yes, she demeaned me. Yes, life as her daughter was difficult. At that point, I was able to look at the whole picture with a sense of forgiveness and I was amazed at that feeling of freedom I had. This wasn't the book I would publish. No, I wanted to also share the goodness I saw in my mom--her wit, humor, love of singing and dancing, cooking, volunteering, and more. That was the woman I could love and I do now. I don't know if this makes sense but your post brought it all to the surface this morning. I needed to share it with you.

I'm in need of an essay template. I'm using the Windows version of Scrivener, and it has a miscellaneous template. I would, however, like something more on point with nonfiction essays.

If you're writing an essay, do you typically use Scrivener or some other software like Microsoft Word, etc.?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice.
