Selling stuff is fun.

I wouldn’t have started this site if I didn’t enjoy both selling stuff, and talking about selling stuff. When you start selling stuff – be it online or at a yard sale – you really do feel lighter. Don’t believe me? Try it then. Sell a bunch of stuff.

But before you attempt your first…uh…attempt selling stuff, there are some things you should know about how to maximize your yard sale sales!

I just finished reading Tanya Tagala’s book Seven Fallen Feathers.

Every Canadian should read this disturbing, eye-opening, well-researched account of teens from northern indigenous communities in Ontario who must move to Thunder Bay in order to obtain a high school education.

Every Canadian should read this book. It’s going to hurt but you really need to do it.

Life experiences aren’t always about exhilarating or extreme events. For me, it’s a unique food tour, an epic concert (or an epic fail concert). Sometimes it’s just a memorable night out with friends. But on my most recent trip to Texas I experienced a brief moment when time stood still.

Well, it’s happened. I got old and am complaining about how things are now, and how better things were in days gone by. And it happened over the course of one night, the night the ticket stub souvenir died.

Do you travel for work? When you do, do you get a chance to visit some of the attractions or dine out at the local favourites?
It’s surprising that not everyone thinks to do things like this, but it’s important to do, especially if you travel for a living.

I’ve recently started travelling again in a new role and had to teach a coworker to stop and smell the roses.

Diamonds, platinum, gold, titanium, tungsten carbide…pfft, who needs them! Overpriced symbols of love if you ask me. And don’t even get me started on the over-commercialization of Valentines Day!

Hey, you don’t need a special day to express your love (or to buy overpriced flowers). Nor do you need to spend thousands of dollars on wedding rings to show the world your connection to one another. Instead, why not save yourself some time and money with these alternative minimalist wedding rings!

Well, here it is, my big confession: I had a job working part-time at a big-box store for six months. As someone who leads a minimalist lifestyle, I had days where I wanted to lash out against the company and my co-workers, or scream out to customers; “YOU DON’T NEED ALL THIS STUFF”!

Christmas is over, all the kiddies are back to school, the tree is either on the curb or back in a box, and your belly is in full muffin-top mode. Another successful minimalist Christmas was had by all, right? Ha, hardly.

But what about those crappy gifts under the tree? You know the ones. The gifts that you opened and immediately thought “who can I pawn this off on”.

So your office is having a gift exchange (aka; Secret Santa) and you’ve decided to ditch your minimalist ways and participate in said event. Good for you, you’re a team player! But the question is, what do you get that special workplace coworker you’ve said all of three words to during your four years at the company? And more important, how do you show off your minimalist prowess and find them an ideal minimalist secret Santa gift anyone could enjoy?
