We're off to a much milder start this morning with the possibility of patchy fog due to increased moisture. This afternoon, despite a good bit of cloud cover, temperatures will reach into the mid to upper 60s. This evening, we could see a few sprinkles around, but the better chance for rain comes tomorrow.

Plan for another mild wake up Tuesday morning, but showers will be possible all day as a cold front approaches. A few thunderstorms cannot be ruled out, but severe potential is low. The front will be very slow moving and will leave us overcast with a cold rain into the day on Wednesday. Expect clearing and more pleasant conditions by the end of the week.

HAPPY MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY!
After a very cold start to the morning, temperatures will sneak into the low to mid 50s this afternoon with plenty of sunshine. High pressure will keep our skies clear and conditions calm through tomorrow. Plan for another cold wake up with temperatures likely to dip just below freezing on the north shore and into the upper 30s/low 40s on the south shore.
We'll notice cloud cover increasing on Wednesday ahead of our next cold front on Thursday. Plan for some rain on Thursday, but we'll dry out and cool down for Friday and the weekend. ‪#‎FOX8NOLA‬

Thanks to cloud cover overnight, temperatures did not dip to freezing for most of the area. We still started off chilly, though, with many 30s on the north shore and low 40s on the south shore. The clouds will be quick to move out after sunrise, so plan for a mostly sunny day with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Tonight, temperatures will fall into the mid 30s on the north shore and low 40s on the south shore.

We will continue a gradual warm up over the next few days with another beauty expected tomorrow. Thursday, clouds will start to build in. Rain is likely Thursday night and Friday morning, but the skies will clear and leave some lovely sunshine for our three-day weekend ahead. #FOX8NOLA

A very cold wake up for us on both sides of the lake! Some spots on the north shore have already fallen into the 20s. On the south shore most spots are just above the freezing mark in the mid 30s. Today will bring brilliant sunshine, but temperatures will struggle to get out of the 40s this afternoon. Lows tonight will fall into the middle to upper 20s on the north shore and mid 30s again on the south shore.

We will see a gradual warm up over the next couple of days with highs tomorrow in the mid 50s. By Wednesday and Thursday we'll remove the chance for a freeze from the forecast, and highs will be in the upper 50s and low 60s. There will be a slight chance for some rain on both Thursday and Friday. #FOX8NOLA

Clear skies overnight had temperatures falling to the 30s on the north shore and low 40s on the south shore. Today will be sunny and cold with highs only reaching the mid 50s. A freeze is expected overnight on the north shore thanks to clear skies and light winds. Pets should come inside tonight and sensitive plants should be covered.

The cold snap doesn't last long as temperatures rebound throughout the week. Despite increasing cloud cover, we can expect highs in the mid to upper 50s through Wednesday. On Thursday, we'll have a good chance to see some rain and possible thunderstorms. Friday will be seasonably warm with highs nearing the 70 degree mark. ‪#‎FOX8NOLA‬ ‪#‎WeatherAuthority‬

Happy New Year! Unfortunately, we aren't seeing a new weather pattern. Periods of rain continue today, with chances higher than yesterday. There will be dry breaks between the rounds of light to moderate rain, and overcast skies will continue with a northerly breeze 10-15 MPH.

We are noticeably cooler this morning, and highs will struggle to get out of the 40s today. Tonight, showers are less likely but still a possibility. Lows will fall to the 30s on the north shore and low 40s on the south shore.

Saturday, rain chances finally diminish and temperatures remain very chilly. Highs will be in the upper 40s and low 50s through the weekend. The overnights will be chilly in the 30s and low 40s through early next week, but for now a widespread freeze is not expected.
