Was here for a week for a work event. The staff supporting the event was tremendous. The food was pretty good and the facilities pretty nice. As for the rooms, they are very tiny and the carpets are pretty filthy. The elevator did break at one point but was fixed rather quickly. Response time from front desk and housekeeping was very quick when needed which was appreciated. They ran out of beach towels at the beach around mid day and did not get them replaced until about 430 (they start closing up around 530/6). The hotel bar was very expensive but that appears to be the norm rather than the standard for this area. All in all it was an okay stay at best but the service during our events during the week was great so they get 4 stars from me for that alone.

Stayed here last year and the hotel seemed to have gone downhill a little bit since my last visit. The rooms are dingy and carpets are dirty. They do not clean the rooms very throughly, bathrooms are tiny. Front desk lady who checked us in was not friendly or welcoming. Did not tell us the best elevator to get to our room so we ended up walking around the entire building just to find our room.

Use cash, the hotel charged everyone in my party double if a debit visa card was used. When we first arrived they advised that we had received a "view upgrade" now I see why since the room location was horrible. The hotel next door had pool parties everyday from 11-6pm and the hotel would not change our room after several request to switch rooms. Housekeeping forgot to provide washcloths and be sure to take inventory of the snack bar otherwise you will be charged for items that were not on the bar upon arrive (ie potato chips). The hotel decoration is nice but the aftermath is a headache.. However, the pool and the fish tacos at The Oasis Restaurant was the most enjoyable part of my 4 day visit.

All was right in the world except for the last day. They day I had to leave. I TRUSTED and BELIEVED the Shelborne employee who promised he'd get me a yellow taxi to the airport. The experience begins below: I do not know how they got such an expensive total when other services such as a yellow cab, lyft, uber, etc range in price for the same service and mileage within a range of $22-$39. It was so ridiculously expensive I'm disappointed and unsatisfied. $101 is too much and it is even more regretful and unfortunate when A.) there is not an official company name for this business. And B.) I told the hotel I wanted a taxi, a yellow taxi, not a suspicious "business" in which they communicated over walkin-talkies. The employee who holds the front door open CONVINCED me and ASSURED me not to worry and that the price is the same, only better quality of service. Naïve and too trusting I took the bait after I repeatedly told him I wanted a yellow cab. Of course there was NO meter and lack of explanation as to how the price from $30 competitors to $101 came to be. Furiously poor, I paid what I could and had to figure out a way to pay the rest.

Great hotel & amenities. Will definitely have to stay there if I return to South Beach. Very close to lots of shopping and Ocean Drive. Super hospitable & friendly staff. You will not be disappointed staying at this hotel.

We checked at 11.30 AM. The room was quite hot. We switch on the AC . But it didn't work. Hot air was coming from vent. We called reception 3 times from 12.30 to 3.30, no one came to fix. We went to recption also 2 times. Ultimately at 7.46 pm it was fixed. The tehnician told their was error in line. It's was horrible day. Room no 935.

After a getting my room corrected for the level I paid. It was fantastic. The view from the oceanfront room was amazing. Great beach!! Great bell service, Eric was wonderful and accommodating.

Loved my stay from check in to can we stay one more day. Housekeeping was awesome, every staff member was hospitable. Definitely going back!!
