This is too funny not to share. I remember those days!

Somehow I sort of miss the old way... When we were forced to think.

It did work, LOL. Although somehow it seems that there's more information to sift through now than there was then.

Hello!

I am preparing to release a new Christmas Children's Book called - The Night Before The Night Before Christmas - on November 7! I'd love for you to take a look and thought it might be a good fit for the readers of your blog.

You can see more information here:

- facebook.com/ElfiesChristmas

Please let me know if you're interested. I'd be happy to send you a free copy for review, as well as one for you to give away to readers. Thanks so much for your consideration and for doing what you do! It's a huge help to authors!

Jay

Book Blurb:
At Santa's workshop, the night before the night before Christmas is hardly a time to rest. The elves work tirelessly to get the final toys made before Christmas Eve, but Elfie just can't keep pace. He spends too much time making his toys perfect, and when Santa comes to check on production, everyone is surprised by his reaction.

My Review of Chorus by Emma Trevayne

Chorus is the sequel to Coda, an awesome YA dystopian novel with a unique premise (controlling the population with addictive music) and a diverse cast

Book Review: Raging Star (Dust Lands Book 3) by Moira Young

My review of Raging Star, the conclusion of the YA dystopian/post-apocalyptic trilogy that began with Blood Red Road. If you like dystopian fiction, you should read this series! Saba is a great character.

Little Brother by Cory Doctorow: Summer reading program canceled by principal to prevent students reading its "anti-authoritarian" message

This is crazy. These high school students were scheduled to read Little Brother by Cory Doctorow for their summer reading program, but the principal canceled the program rather than allow them to read a book with a theme of questioning authority. In response, publisher Tor is sending 200 free copies of the book to the school. Little Brother is a GREAT book, by the way, and if you haven't read it, I highly recommend it!

The principal of Booker T Washington High in Pensacola FL cancelled the school's One School/One Book summer reading program rather than letting all the kids go through with the previously approved assignment to read Little Brother, the bestselling young adult novel by Cory Doctorow. With Cory and Tor Books' help, the teachers are fighting back.

My dad grew up in Pensacola... apparently it's a pretty narrow place.

The Stark Law (Game of Thrones)

The Stark Law: No two living Starks can ever occupy the same place at the same time.

Corollary: If any Stark is approaching a location where another Stark currently resides, the resident Stark will either leave or be killed.

+TS Davis I've actually just started reading the first book, so I don't know if the Stark Law applies in the books. I've watched all four seasons of the TV show so far and really enjoy it.

Story
Introduction
A lifetime reader of speculative fiction, I've been involved in the children's literature community since 2005. I share my passion for YA and Middle-Grade science fiction and fantasy on this blog, and I'm also one of the organizers of the Cybils Awards for children's literature. I have a small press publishing company, Imaginator Press.

For my day job, I'm a freelance web developer. Even there I have strong ties to the children's book community: my biggest client is the Mom's Choice Awards. If you have a website or web application project you need help with, please contact me at sruth@imaginatorpress.com or through my LinkedIn Profile.

Living in an older house, we've had to call Roto-rooter several times for plumbing emergencies. They've always responded promptly and usually are out within a couple of hours, even on weekends. The technicians are knowledgeable and the service is great. The price is reasonable. Most recently, our main sewer line was backing up into the house due to roots that had broken the integrity of the line, and needed to be replaced. The excavators came out within 2 days after we signed the contract, and they did an excellent job, even being careful not to disturb a pet memorial that was near the pipe. When they finished, they cleaned up, reseeded the yard with grass seed, and covered it with straw. Next time we need a plumber in Baltimore, we will definitely call Roto-rooter.
