My husband and I hired John and his team at Shearer Painting to paint multiple rooms, ceilings and doors within our condo. John definitely knows paint, colors, and technique and was so helpful when walking through our unit with feedback and suggestions. From beginning to end he and his team were extremely professional and made the process easy for us. John and Gabriel were very communicative throughout the project and John stopped by and checked in multiple times on progress which was appreciated. The work itself was amazing - his team paid excellent attention to detail which was important in some of the rooms where there was trim and tight spaces to work around. We have no complaints - they did a clean paint job. The best part is that when they wrapped up the project you wouldn't have known they were there - the place was spotless and put back together as it was before they started the work. We are very happy with the results - paint color does make a huge difference in the feel of your home - wish we'd done it sooner. We highly recommend working with Shearer painting and would not hesitate recommending them to anyone.

My husband and I were thrilled with the exquisite color consultation and elegant painting that Shearer Painting provided us. They were completely customer-oriented, respectful, committed to what we wanted, and the best painters we have ever had! Whenever our friends or family come over to our newly painted condo, they remark on the beautiful color and high quality of the painting and trim in every room. I just wish we had more to paint because interacting with John Shearer and his colleagues was such a pleasure. Please check out the Shearer blog to see the beautiful work they did for us!

John is a true professional with a long-term approach to his business. He goes above and beyond to ensure total client satisfaction. Unlike many painting companies, John and his team are true subject matter experts in their profession. They make recommendations based on quality, long-lasting workmanship and have the capability to deliver that quality.

My name is Erik Lassen and I had the amazing opportunity to work for Shearer Painting for a brief time at the beginning of the 2013 year. I graduated from the University of Idaho and moved over to Seattle where I was looking for a job to pay the bills and for something to keep me busy. After some searching I landed a job with Shearer and was hired on as an apprentice painter. I had very little experience in the professional painting industry, but I was willing to learn and give it my all. John and his team of highly experienced painters took me in and gave me a wealth of knowledge that I never knew existed within the painting industry. I learned techniques that helped me work faster and more efficiently, in order to complete projects on time as well as produce a higher quality result for the customer. The way Shearer is organized as well as run is amazing. The fact there is always someone there that can help you with any questions you might have is really one thing that sets them apart from other companies that I've worked for. Shearer gave me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and give me a more solid foundation for my future. I wish John the best in the future and HIGHLY recommend Shearer Painting to anyone that wants quality work done correctly.

We had our Kirkland home exterior painted in April- May of 2013. After working with several paint contractors over the years interior and exterior, John quickly distinguished himself as someone who had a much higher level of knowledge and passion about this business than we had run into before. We were considering replacing 50% of the shingles on our house first and then repainting. After several painting and siding bids, John was the first person to tell us that this was not necessary and that he could help us without the expense of replacing the shingles first. This is where his expertise on historic homes came into play. In the end- there were a "few" shingles that I was not happy with because they had buckled too much from the earlier wear and tear and we did have Shearer replace then for a very reasonable cost. From start to finish, he and his skilled team-lead were prompt, professional and meticulous. They took photos throughout the job and would mail us updates and point out areas with a mark-up tool right on the pictures. He used high quality paints and his team prepped our house like we've never seen before. The proof will be after a few years but, I'm convinced our money was well spent. We plan on having Shearer maintain our Ironwood (IPE) deck and would use them for future interior painting as well. I highly recommend them.

My wife and I called John Shearer in the fall after the incompetent first painting company we’d hired stopped showing up halfway through the job. John assured us that he’d fix our botched paint job and make sure that we got the results we wanted. And, to save the day, he immediately preserved the newly bared wood on the house by painting it with primer to protect it for the coming winter. In the spring, at the first sign of good weather, John followed up as promised. Since he had already done a perfect job painting our new exterior kitchen door in his shop with Fine Paints of Europe we had positive expectations. He and his crew did not disappoint. Gabriel, John’s crew lead, arrived at 8 a.m. sharp, introduced himself, gave us his card, and invited us to call or email him any time with any questions or concerns. Gabriel and Roberto immediately went to work. They knew exactly what they were doing with all aspects of the job, including responding appropriately to the surprise of rotted wood that had been filled with interior spackle and painted over by the previous painters. Gabriel and Roberto were great communicators, quiet, neat, organized, thoughtful, and skilled. In less than a week they had saved the day by finishing the job that had unnecessarily dragged on for months with the previous company. To give you an example of their courtesy and manners, one day Gabriel mentioned that while working on a basement window a little dirt had fallen inside the house. He offered to come inside to clean it up. While it was unnecessary, we appreciated this level of customer service and attention to detail. Our house looks great! John Shearer is highly skilled and experienced in all aspects of painting. He is also an excellent business person. He will not disappoint! What is refreshing is that he and his staff and crew place equal values on painting and on the highest customer service. We’re so thrilled with the service that he provided us that we plan to call on him for all our future painting needs.
