If Disney does end up buying Fox...what will that mean for comic spec? What will they create, perhaps integrate into Phase 4 or 5? What are good specs to look out for?

Recent pick ups. These are pretty common to find as raw copies so why not go for the 9.8s!

Weekend pickups in the U.K. Always nice to find raw keys in store.

The WWBN32 is a pence copy with stunning newsstand fresh cover gloss and a clean white BC. Couple of spine tics and a corner crease and top corner spine wear keeps it in the VF territory though.

Personally, I do like Pence copies. But that's a post for another time.

Are NEW Image books going through another speculator-fuelled period?

Remember 2013? Lazarus #1, Deadly Class #1, Black Science #1, Manifest Destiny #1 etc. There were spikes then and look where the books are now?

Is there money to be made flipping hits like Seven to Eternity? Sure. But I'm not sure about the long-term prospects for this. Look where Remender books are at now. Even ongoing (popular) books like Deadly Class aren't anywhere near the value of Seven. The quick gains on Seven coupled with Image now pushing variants means that everyone wants in.

If you want in on the weekly 'what Image book is gonna pop!' bandwagon, don't hold these books. Turn a quick profit and move on. Buy them AT COVER and flip them. Don't pay high and hold hoping they will be a huge hit down the line.

NB: Print runs on Seven #1 are about 32.5k. Black Science #1 about 40k, Deadly Class #1 about 34k. All very similar. All good comics to read.

Picked these up in July last year. #1 was $8-10 a pop (one retailer had 4 but only allowed 2 per customer). The rest were between $5-7. Great fun read.

Fresh back from CGC. Bought these raw (at grades that I thought could be bumped with a press) and +Dennis Shafer helped them along with a press. Better pics to come...was too excited to unbox them.

Hulk 181 was sold as VF+, ASM129 was a VF and Nyx 3 was NM-. All have WP.

Look out for pressable flaws such as NCB creases, dirt which can be dry cleaned, make sure all the pages are intact with no tears.

These were graded and just shipped by CGC. They were helped along by +Dennis Shafer who pressed and cleaned them. I bought the books raw at shows and LCS' with the hope they would grade better after a press and they all came good.

TL:DR: Incredible Hulk 181 = 9.2, ASM 129 = 8.5, Nyx = 9.6. All WP. W00t!

Apparently CBCS will be announcing a new product in their next newsletter (ETA sometime today): some of these newly graded books can be found on eBay. I didn't post links to adhere to rules here.

"Raw Grade is a brand new service from CBCS. Each book is assigned a grade and placed in a Mylite with a full back board. A sticker with the grade and a serial number is affixed to the front of the Mylite. The book is sealed in with two tamper resistant CBCS logo stickers. Please note that these are not traditionally graded and encapsulated. No restoration check is performed on Raw Grade books."

Have an update. $10 for moderns and $15 for expanded (not sure how far back they go). Max value is $250 per book. If you want to slab it after, you'll need to resub at full costs.
