Tossing Larry for his kink and for his not being duplicitous about that demonstrates intolerance. Your point about the threats that are a matter of course to women who code cannot be shouted loudly enough. Oustering Garfield could demonstrate the new-normal of tolerance in the Drupal community: sexism, lack of respect and cruelty based on gender will not be tolerated. Were that the dynamic, it would be a net win. But that's not where this is going to go. Sexism and hostility towards women is going to continue to be rampant. It's going to be laughed off and dismissed with a "settle down, honey" approach. I cannot stand it, which is why I am rarely taking part in online forums.
Dries titled this post, "Living Our Values" - let's see if that happens. If slurs and threats get dished out, let's see if moderators step up and ban those bad actors. Instead, I feel tossing Garfield was done out of squeamishness by those who didn't align with his views and interests. If the nature of the Gorean element is unacceptable because if denigrates women, then "Living Our Values" implies MUCH less tolerance for sexism as it's seen in the Drupal community. Let's see if that can start to happen. All tech communities have this problem, but "Living Our Values" is a statement that puts a line in the sand and says, "no more."
So: will the Drupal Association step up? Will they remind the community of the code of conduct that would enforce respect? Will they toss sexists who threaten women and marginalize their contributions?
I'll wait and see. For me: the subtle and overt sexism in the tech community squelched about half of the talent from contributing. It fills me with a lot of anger that wearing a skirt is the dividing line between respect and abuse.
If you are upset that I don't like your sexism, close-mindedness and threatening behaviour, let's make this simple. You're a bigot. Please block me. I don't like you because of your views.

I was asked to migrate a site to a new web host. This is a WordPress site running "Total Cache." I moved all of the web files and data. When I dug through the content, I found the cache had a ton of click bait (600+ articles)-- articles that helped to drive inbound links, but didn't link to main site and were not relevant to the main site's vertical. It seems sensible to pull this bogus content, but that will tank the site's inbound links.
I need to clean up this junk practice, but cold turkey sounds like it could tick off the client. Is there a way to switch the site's heroin addiction to methadone ?

Thanks to the fine folks at Gorge Electrical. I realized too late that they botch up appointments (see other reviews).
