I was asked to migrate a site to a new web host. This is a WordPress site running "Total Cache." I moved all of the web files and data. When I dug through the content, I found the cache had a ton of click bait (600+ articles)-- articles that helped to drive inbound links, but didn't link to main site and were not relevant to the main site's vertical. It seems sensible to pull this bogus content, but that will tank the site's inbound links.
I need to clean up this junk practice, but cold turkey sounds like it could tick off the client. Is there a way to switch the site's heroin addiction to methadone ?

Drive
What Would You Do For Cthulhu? In a natural glade of the swamp stood a grassy island of perhaps an acre's extent, clear of trees and tolerably dry. On this now leaped and twisted a more indescribable horde of human abnormality than any but a Sime or an Angarola could paint. Void of clothing, this hybrid spawn were braying, bellow

Ah... that feeling of satisfaction that settles in when you've blocked a dozen deceitful people.

A close friend of mine has had a tough year. She has soldiered on, raising her son with almost no support from his father. She's one of the working poor, making too little to survive living here, but too much to qualify for any assistance. I do try to help her, but she been hit with a combo of surprise bills over the last month. Christmas isn't going to happen for her, that's a given-- but she's now trying to pull out of a dive in time to pay rent on January 1st.

Like I said, I've been trying to help her. If you see this and feel compelled to help me, help her, email me and let's talk. My email is mikedewolfe@gmail.com

In the past 25 years, a day hasn't gone by when my first ex couldn't just turn me in to the maintenance enforcement people for more money.  It's noble that you helping, but while such agencies exist, can she not go to them?  Kim threatened to go there only a couple months ago.  David is 25.  They'd still come after me.

Thanks to the fine folks at Gorge Electrical. I realized too late that they botch up appointments (see other reviews).

We booked them about a month ago to do work last Thursday. They didn't show up. Around 2PM, I called for an ETA. They eventually called back and said their guy had been on vacation and forgot about us. The owner booked us in for following Monday. Later, their guy also confirmed. On the Sunday night, I emailed them and asked if they were good to get going on the next morning. The email reply I got was "We're all good." Monday morning: no sign.
At 10AM, I phoned and asked for an ETA. By 11AM, I got a call back from the owner who gave me a long story about how their guy had back problems. I said that I couldn't reconcile that with the "We're all good" statement from 12 hours before.
They said they could try to get a guy in on the Tuesday. They were going to look at the work, but they didn't know what the work was. They didn't know our address. They didn't know if we already had the materials.
Complete disarray is bad for business logistics and renovation planning. I didn't want to see what complete disarray looked like when applied to electrical work.

My marriage came to a sudden and abrupt end. A car crash, not a curtain fall. It has the hallmarks of a crash. The wreckage, the suffering, the bystanders.

It's a good metaphor, and you deploy it well. I'm glad to read they're going to be extracting you from the vehicle soon...

This is my best Christmas. Here's why : http://shawn.dewolfe.bc.ca/blog/peace-of-mind.html#.VJkK6_8AKA
The darkest feeling I could ever experience is standing in front of someone and watching them drown. A part of my soul goes with them.
