Anyone want this feature for the next version of Photoshop? Some awesome new research coming out in advance of Siggraph.

That's some crazy magic there.  The origami bird flight was extra awesome.

Here's a writeup about us in Entrepreneur magazine.
OpenStage uses multiple cameras and advanced algorithms to capture and display motion data in real time, no special suites or elaborate setups required.

Cool. I didn't know your tech was used in Batman: Arkham Origins. Congrats on your success.

How google implemented lens blur in their new camera app. Some cool computer vision algorithms running on the phone.

Just saw a Kickstarter for Scratch Jr, a visual programming language for 5-7 year olds. They've already raised enough money to launch their iPad app this summer. Take a look if you have young kids.
Coding is the new literacy. With ScratchJr, young children (ages 5-7) learn to program their own interactive stories and games.

That's awesome have been thinking I needed to build a modern logo equivalent for the kids tablets! Maybe someone else will do it for me!

Too bad that this is a fake. It definitely tweaked my nostalgia. Impressed that they got Christopher Lloyd, TO, & Tony Hawk to particpate.

Google is definitely upping the game with this phone concept. Very interested to see how Apple responds since they purchased PrimeSense.
Google today announced Project Tango, an Android-based prototype phone and developer kit with advanced 3D sensors out of its Advanced Technology and Projects..

I'll be giving a talk at my friend Renee Leverty's art gallery Wednesday, February 5th from 6-8pm.

I'm still thinking over what to present, but here are some things that I want to touch on:
+ Discuss what it takes to make a modern game, especially the artistic and creative process
+ How computer simulations and games are becoming more realistic as hardware is able to understand more about human motion
+ Do an overview of new technologies that will be of interest to artists and art-lovers and demonstrate a few along the way

I'm guessing that most of the audience will be people that casually play games or have kids that play games. It is mostly to inform and pique people's interest in all of the cool things that are happening in and around games.

Please feel free to drop by!

Pretty awesome projection mapping and VR blend from NuFormer, probably the leader in this field. Even more awesome is that they are using our product, OpenStage, to track the human body.

It's pretty cool how Disney is using projection mapping techniques to make their animatronics more lifelike. It seems like a great hybrid solution.
It's been 50 years since Walt Disney debuted the first full sized audio-animatronic Abraham Lincoln figure at the 1964 World's Fair, the next generation of figures debuting in Seven Dwarfs Mine Train might just be as big an evolutionary jump as the original Abe Lincoln figure was.

My beach reading for the past few days. A truly great book filled with wonderful anecdotes about Pixar movies that we love and the principles that led to them. For anyone who is interested in nurturing creativity in a business, this is a must read.

Cool AR app for your phone from glasses.com .  It uses some amount of facial recognition to create a geometric model of the face. It then places the glasses appropriately, renders shadows and IBL onto the mesh  and composites with a series of pre-recorded images of your face. Really smooth implementation. Kudos!

Will we all have to become programmers to efficiently interact with the Internet of Things? This certainly is a good example of how complex everyday life usually is, full of exceptions and odd events. How do you build UI so that humans can effectively interact with it without being frustrated?
