After 20 years as a stay-at-home mom, I found my way back to writing
, finally putting my english degree to use on my blog, Empty House Full Mind
. As my involvement in social media grew, so did my passion for it and my belief that it's a fantastic tool, especially for those at midlife and boomers to connect with others and find new direction and opportunities in our lives.
In August of 2012 I met one of my former business partners at BlogHer, and the idea for Generation Fabulous was hatched. With over 150 contributors and 4 new posts every weekday, Generation Fabulous was a daily destination for thousands of women. After some time, the partnership ended, the website became inactive, and I am now editor-in-chief of Midlife Boulevard
, the website for midlife women, which I co-founded with Anne Parris.
I was a speaker at BlogHer 2013
, talking with my partners on the topic of midlife bloggers, and our session was the most tweeted about of the conference. I was also a speaker at the 2013 Type A conference
I'm an avid reader, movie-goer and pop culture fan. My online relationships are just as important to me as my friends in real life. Being able to connect to people all around the world is an adventure. My real life is pretty good too! My husband
and I live in Orange County, California with our perfect dog, Lambeau, and I have a daughter, 23 and a son, 21.
