Welcome to the latest instalment of the Sharking for Chips and Drinks radio show – this week we delved into the mysterious world of Michelin reviews, taking a look at the newly recognised restaurants and wondering if some of them really deserved it. We are looking at you, Taberna do Mercado. We resign ourselves to dragging our special stretchy pants out of the cupboard – normally reserved for Christmas – as the seasonal excess started early this year with a slew of festivals and food-fuelled events – from pizzas to smoked meats, we offer up our verdict. We share the latest news surrounding Som Saa’s successful crowdfunding initiative, talk about a few new and delicious gins that popped up on our radar this week – from the pine freshness of US-based St George to the lemon and cardamom botanicals that make Butlers Gin sing. And then there’s Langley’s No. 8, a proudly old-fashioned gin that will be hosting a pop-up bar event in London town soon – more on that soon.

Oh, and from 16 October, walk into your local craft beer pub and demand a glass of the good stuff from Australia’s very own Two Birds Brewing – the girls recently brewed 50,000 litres of their award-winning Sunset Ale here in the UK. Track it down before it runs out….

Until next time, remember to send any tip, rants or rave reviews to the Sharking team @shark4chipdrink
