A Mom Walking Home In Chefchaouen

Here is that mountain town in Morocco where everything is painted blue. One of my favorite things to do in these places is just watching regular people go about their daily business. It's kind of nice to see that people all over the world do the same kind of things – little kids run off to school in uniform, shopkeepers brush off the sidewalk in front of their businesses, and moms walk through the streets carrying their children. I think it's so awesome how everyone there dresses so full of color and life. It kind of reminds me of how so many tones in the west often kind of “blend in” and don't stand out, which doesn't totally jibe with our supposedly more individualistic natures.

so lovely..
It’s World Food Day. This week's #ThrowbackThursday shows Afghan children in Maslakh Internally Displaced Persons Camp, near the city of Herat, Afghanistan in 2002.

The children are waiting outside a food distribution kitchen funded by the World Food Programme.

As the conflict in Syria enters its fourth year, more than twice as many children are now affected compared to 12 months ago, says a new report by UNICEF.

Particularly hard hit are up to a million children who are trapped in areas of Syria that are under siege or that are hard to reach with humanitarian assistance due to continued violence.

"Under Siege – the devastating impact on children of three years of conflict in Syria" focuses on the immense damage caused to the 5.5 million children now affected by the conflict and calls for an immediate end to the violence and increased support for those affected.
