My latest video #GamingLooksGood #7: Life Is Strange

Shareef looks at the second episode of DontNod Entertainment's Life Is Strange. Colorful art, a progressive Jesus pic, a race fail at the bus stop, the complexities of friendship between women, and more!

New Blog Post --> #GamingLooksGood 04: Mortal Kombat Death Breasts
Mortal Kombat is not known for it's progressive portrayal of women, but the development team at NetherRealm stated that the upcoming Mortal Kombat X will have more "realistic" looking women.  I take a look at the new artwork and compare it to the ridiculousness of 2011's Mortal Kombat 9. Shareef looks at the "more realistic" women's bodies in Mortal Kombat X and compares it to the ridiculousness of Mortal Kombat 9.

New video --> #GamingLooksGood #9: Box Boy

Shareef breaks out the Nintendo 3DS and takes a look at Box Boy's gender options. These options are connected to the recent pieces by Maddie Messer on why women characters are normally hidden behind a paywall or a certain amount of gameplay.

New Blog Post #GamingLooksGood --> Evolve's Maggie

Check out a bad ass Black video game character done right!
Evolve is a new first person shooter that involves a squad of four players hunting down a monster. Before release, I was cautiously optimistic about Maggie, one of the Black hunters in the game.  All of the marketing for Maggie showed her with face paint and a scowl -  which always runs the risk of being reduced to the most basic of "savage jungle" stereotypes, resulting in unintelligent one note characters. Maggie is not that charac...

Very good, predictable Mexican food. Get a steak burrito and a BlackBerry Izze - perfect comfort food when going through tough times.

Very meager cheesesteaks ... plenty of better options on the city. Go to Jim's if you're on South St.

My favorite thing about this library is the impressive amount of authors and speakers. It really serves the community well.
