Felt good to kill my Buzz account.

Sales guys hate me.  Just got an invitation to lunch at Boulevard, but I prefer a cheese sandwich at my desk.

Twitter crashed after trying to convert the entire site to classic ASP.

"Twitter is currently down for <%= reason %>.

We expect to be back in <%= deadline %>. For more information, check out Twitter Status. Thanks for your patience!"

I was actually on Google+ last night, so don't think I'm just here while Twitter is down.

Cloud Developer Meetup Tonight in San Francisco

As part of the "IaaS with .NET" talk, I'll be launching a Windows console app in Windows Azure that connects to Twilio (a voice and text messaging API). Although I'll be working in .NET, the concepts extend to other frameworks.

I'm updating one of my early Windows Phone apps. It currently uses several XML files, but I want to migrate to a database.

This process is so strange and convoluted. You have to create a "helper application" to populate a database, which you then have to copy out of isolated storage using a command-line tool. Then, you have to write a method to stream the database back into isolated storage.

Come on. Really?

This is how it should work:

1) Create a SQL CE database with SQL Server Management Studio and drop it into your project.
2) In Visual Studio, mark the .sdf as "Copy to Isolated Storage."
3) Done.

This process is really half-assed and there's no reason the team shouldn't go back and do the job right.

AuthPack has been updated to include oAuth 2.0 for Facebook. I also created a sample display for the login buttons. You can choose which auth providers you want to use. It's very modular.
