• Do you know your place and have you found the way?

Sorry it's not everywhere you fit that you belong. You can't get to where you wanted to go if you think every way is your way.

"Every woman knows what I’m talking about. It’s the presumption that makes it hard, at times, for any woman in any field; that keeps women from speaking up and from being heard when they dare; that crushes young women into silence by indicating, the way harassment on the street does, that this is not their world. It trains us in self-doubt and self-limitation just as it exercises men’s unsupported overconfidence."
~Rebecca Solnit (Men Explain Things to Me)

Happy #EidAlFitr to all Muslim faithfuls. May Allah accept all your acts of Ibaadah and forgive your shortcomings. And as the #WorldCup2018 is here, we're proud to support #NGA and we hope they'll get the trophy!

Cite vs. Site vs. Sight

• Cite is a verb meaning to mention, quote or make reference to something or someone. It could also be used to issue a notice of violation.
Examples:
~ It's important to cite your references in any research work.
~ I was lucky that the FRSC officer did not cite me for speeding but gave me a warning.

• Site is a noun meaning location (physical or electronic).
Examples:
~ You're to meet the director at the new site.
~ This will be a great site for Jovy's Restaurant.
~ Have you met the developer of my new (web)site?

• Sight can be used a noun or a verb (usually passive - sighted) with a number of different meanings (like the ability to see or perceive with the eyes, something worth seeing e.t.c)
Examples:
~ You're to take a sight test once you renew your driver's license.
~ The sight of her entering the office flooded him with desire.
~ The opposition parties complained bitterly about the short-sighted policies of the ruling party.

At SK, we're intrinsically driven to solve your specific problem and we'll keep going when others get bored with the trend because we see possibilities in chasing problems and not trends.

***And as we celebrate #June12 today, are you motivated by #power or #achievement?

"People of Nigeria, our time is now. You are the repository of power in the land. No one can give you power. It is yours. Take it!"
~M.K.O. Abiola

If it's power, is it the traditional - titular, coercive, reward, referent or connection power? Or is it the informational and expert power (as #information and #expertise are amazing sources of power in this day and age of information)?
And if you're motivated by achievement, do you know that you can still have power? YES you can!

• "The Lost Generation" by Jonathan Reed.

*When the poem as seen in the image is read backwards, it becomes:

There is hope.
It is foolish to presume that
My generation is apathetic and lethargic.
It will be evident that
My peers and I care about this Earth.
No longer can it be said that
Environmental destruction will be the norm.
In the future,
I will live in a country of my own making.
I do not concede that
Thirty years from now, I will be celebrating the tenth anniversary of my divorce.
Experts tell me
This is a quick fix society
But this will not be true in my era.
Families stayed together
Once upon a time
I’ll tell you this:
Family
Is more important than
Work
I have my priorities straight because
My employer will know that
They are not the most important thing in my life.
So in thirty years, I will tell my children
“Money will make me happy”
Is a lie, and
“True Happiness comes from within”
I realize this may be a shock, but
I can change the world.
And I refuse to believe that
I am part of a lost generation.
