After The Storm.

Many times the Best light for a Landscape Photographer is after a storm passes.

For National Camera Day I shot the storm light with my Fuji X100s.  Nikon D600 and with vividHDR on my mobile phone.  Each gave a different result and knowing their strengths and weaknesses allowed me to make hay out of this amazing light.

Spotlight on the Everglades. This image was all about waiting. My approach to Landscape Photography is like an action sport, when the light is at its best it changes rapidly which it did on this day but I had to hunker down to avoid the mid day sun and wait for something special to happen.

This was fascinating process to watch from capture through to completion.
I shot this image of James P. Abbott, esq. during my Palm Beach Photographic Centre's Infrared Workshop. This is the image I worked on with the entire class doing the same file part of day two: post processing an infrared file. Well I did say the class get's thrown into the pixel ocean and will swim to the finished image shore. I can smell the smoke of burning brain matter. Welll.... THEY did ask for this....
Once again only brought two cameras to the workshop and three lenses. The camera used was a Nikon D800 modified (by to capture infrared. The Lens used here was a Nikkor 24-120mm. Post processing was done with Capture NX-D (Raw processing) Photoshop CC 2014, onOne Perfect Suite and Nik Collection Software.

Saw my first thunderstorm over the lake last night.  Thor is back for his summer vacation in Florida.  This was from a few years about and one of the most spectacular displays I have seen.

Some of my clients include:

The History Channel:  The Great Race.  "30's era rally cars racing across the Western US.  Not something you see everyday!"

REI:  "When an area close to Seattle was on the fast track for development I was honored to help REI preserve a unique part of the area as park space.  For future residents and generations to enjoy."

The X-Files.  "The X-Files Video Game"  "This was my first gig right out of Art School.  Talk about hitting the ground running.  A live action game.  I shot the cast and clues  as part of the FBI's crime data base.  Also I ended up as the stand in for the main character,  this became a huge learning experience as I got to witness a top DP and crew build and light shots.....and I had a trailer!"
