Cool stuff.
Buy the Pickmaster plectrum cutter here to make your own guitar plectrums from plastic cards and packaging. A pick punch that makes a great gift for guitarists!

Once you have a few kids, it gets tough to find adult time with your wife, unless you’re lucky enough to have super parents/in-laws who will watch your little ones all time. These shots were taken on a mom and dad night out at Darwin’s Blues Bar in…

IT Security isn't all about hacking and viruses. Sometimes the biggest threat to your organization is simply giving away too many privileges!

"•84% of fish samples labeled "white tuna" were actually escolar, a fish that can cause prolonged, uncontrollable, oily anal leakage."

That's the big deal, unless of course like myself you already suffer from this problem.  I think you will find the corporation that owns Depends is behind the PURPOSEFUL mislabeling....  I'm too ashamed to wear the product and love seafood too much to change now so I'll just continue to buy more britches as I need them....

John's Perfect Oatmeal
Original recipe makes 1 serving
Ingredients
- 1/2 cups flattened oats (i.e. Regular Quaker Oats)
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
- butter to taste
- REAL maple syrup to taste
Directions
1) Combine water, salt, and vanilla extract in a cooking device.
Bring to a rapid boil, until its boiling like crazy.
2) Add oats; stir them around; stir it like crazy, until the oats
get a seal on them and are separate but equal.
3) Put a lid on. Turn the heat down to a simmer for 5 to 10
minutes. You can ad lib the timings yourself. You can even turn
it off and let it steam.
4) Then you can put butter and REAL maple syrup into your oatmeal
(to taste). That's what I like to do.
* SUPER DELICIOUS *

I've actually been thinking about buying this little Amazon gizmo. John C Dvorak thinks its a bad idea...
All our tech is listening for commands. And someday, it's all going to blow up in our faces.

How many of you thought net neutrality was a GREAT idea and celebrate the recent FCC rules?

Just from the little I know about networking, peering agreements, etc, I've thought that it was a terrible idea.

This post actually does a good job of pointing out some of the reasons it is very troubling.

https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2015/02/fccs-latest-net-neutrality-proposal-pros-cons-and-question-marks
Last week, we received some welcome news: the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) publicly confirmed that it is finally going to put its open internet rules on the right legal footing by reclassifying broadband providers as common carriers.  That said, the goal was never just reclassification; that’s just an essential step for open internet rules to survive the inevitable court

There will be pros and cons to each option And it will also open the door for abuse in terms of taxes or kickbacks for some.

I support the overall idea of it to stop companies from deciding who gets maximum throughput for an expense, but also recognising the flip side is government will tax is once it is controlled. However, the fact is they were going to tax the internet; it was just a matter of when. I think it came down to them understanding what is, so they could tax it accordingly.
