If you're wondering which field you should go into, or which certifications to pursue, check this out. Feels good to be a CISA and MCSE!  :-)

Listen to the Director of the US Office of Personnel Management,  Katherine Archuleta get grilled and absolutely refuse to explain why none of their personnel databases are encrypted!

Government bureaucrats at their best!

For fun +Shane Peden and I watch (listen to) Government hearings on IT matters. None of them have any technical knowledge beyond what their lobbyists are feeding them. It is baffling.

Apart from including amazing built in security features, here's another great reason to use Firefox! Pocket is now built right in!

http://www.theverge.com/2015/6/3/8718299/firefox-pocket-built-in-announcement
Pocket is one of the best browser extensions out there, but that's no longer the case on Firefox — because it's now part of the browser itself. Mozilla announced on Tuesday that Pocket will now...

I'm glad I got to visit the famous toy store before it closed. Any fans of the movie "Big" better get to NYC fast.

FAO Schwarz will close its doors on Fifth Avenue next month. Even for New Yorkers, well accustomed to change, the news has been a shock. The shop’s owner, Toys “R” Us, announced it was giving up its lease nearly two years early to save money, with no definite plans to open anywhere else http://econ.st/1cQfj8A
The (almost) last changing of the guard MORE adults than children queued for their turn on the “Big Piano”, a giant floor keyboard, in FAO Schwarz, America’s...

This is the first really useful thing I've found you could use a Raspberry Pi for so far.

Sure, there's lots of cool project ideas, but everyone can benefit from having a cheap, always on, low power usage VPN to dial into when you find yourself at a  hotel or coffee shop and need a secure connection.

Trust no one and build a server that encrypts your Web data from prying eyes.

Also... if you ever played Quake 3 Team Arena (1999).. it is awesome on the Pi2.  Runs @ 60+ fps and multiplayer.  And there is a port for MineCraft ( that game that I have never liked ), Doom , Duke3d...

For 35$ ,  I've gotten my use out of it.  I tinker around with my 2nd one all the time at work.  I did use it for testing my ethernet terminations (10 jacks) (with a portable 5v battery) in the two new offices that we built.

I'm really thinking about hunting down an old 4:3 LCD monitor and rebuilding it into a wooden picture looking frame.  Then, stuff a Pi in the frame case with wifi and use it for family pictures. Set it up so that it can pull pictures automatically from a web server.  Also, for the shit of it make it play a bunch of funny animated GIFs for when its not showing off pictures of the kids.... and maybe a hidden button to switch it to an instance of Google Calendars in full screen to check on appointments.

Cock fighting is illegal, but we can genetically modify them to have snouts instead of beaks.

Scientists create chickens with dinosaur snouts to study evolution http://www.engadget.com/2015/05/13/scientists-give-chickens-dinosaur-snouts/ via Engadget Android
How do scientists study the evolutionary transformation from snouts to beaks as those winged dinosaurs became birds? By putting dinosaur snouts on chicke
