You've used the popular 4 Us formula ... searched through the headline templates found in the free Magnetic Headline PDF (http://goo.gl/Zgv9) ... even scoped out what headlines at Gawker or Business Insider are rocking the social web ...
But you don't just feel like you can hit publish yet. The reason might be is you don't have an arresting image.
See, images are steroids for your headline. It can give your headline a big boost ... or it can repel people.
The image might be beautiful, odd, heartwarming, instructive or just curiosity-provoking ... but it has to make the reader want to read that first line of your post.
When it comes to choosing a striking image you have to know:
