I am so thankful to live in this land where we still have the opportunity to engage in the attempt to secure freedom peacefully. We are not through with freedom, and freedom is not through with us. Happy Independence Day!

As Thomas Jefferson said, the banking system is more dangerous to our liberty than even standing armies. Once Americans understand how this game is significantly affecting how they live their lives, a great awakening will occur like never before.

I write this not to offend, and I do not intend to come across as "holier than thou." I am wise enough to know I am not. I love my country as much as the next guy and feel compelled to speak to the issue of the presidential election in light of nonstop inquiries asking who I will vote for. Here is what my conscience says:

I can no longer be a part of the "lesser of two evils" mantra. My belief is that "righteousness exalteth a nation'" and when we Americans start voting based on our values and leading with our conscience and stop treating the ballot box like a poker game, I believe God will intervene and lift us up in some incredible ways.

I do not believe God is done with America, and we are not done with God. America can still be that beacon of hope to the rest of the world.

With that being said, here is how I voted up to this point. I voted for Rand Paul in the primary. He fit best within my understanding of freedom. After he lost, I put my support behind Libertarian candidate Austin Petersen. Now that he has lost, I am at odds as to who I will vote for.

My conscience won't allow me to vote for Trump. Perhaps it is an issue I have to work through, but my heart and mind cry out to stand firm on principle on how I cast my vote. I intend to do just that. My understanding of freedom and the Constitution simply do not mesh with a man like Trump who has been on both sides of the fence on nearly issue of real import. I do not like that kind of unpredictability when it comes to protecting our fundamental freedoms.

I believe in less than 10 years the call of "vote your conscience" will be the common cry because we will soon discover that the lesser of two evils nonsense has gotten us nowhere, and it's time for someone bigger than all of us to intervene.

Always vote your conscience regardless of what those in government might say and what the masses might urge.

Last weekend, millions and millions of people all over the world watched a few guys chase their childhood dream of winning an NBA championship. They threw their hearts over the bar, and it was interesting to watch their critics analyze their every move. Many people who have slipped into mediocrity are often more critical of people who are chasing their dreams than they are of our own lives. Let us never fall into the trap.

Are you chasing your dream or just watching from the cheap seats? Let's go make it happen!
