So yeah... They are shipping me an empty box that I have to put my hub in, drop it off at a UPS store and they will ship it back to them. Then they will fix it and ship it back to me. So I guess my wink devices are out of service for at least a week now.

They say they have done all they can to make the process as simple as possible. Um, no! The simplest would be for them to send me a working hub and me ship the bricked one back. Or at the very least just let me drop the hub off at the UPS store and let them pack & ship it. A lot of companies do this for returning equipment. It's super "simple" and convenient.

While I appreciate the good faith effort of the $50 coupon, I'm not sure that I want to invest anymore into the Wink platform.

Got an email from Wink around 10pm tonight about a new self-fix option and it worked for me. My hub is back online now.

+Blossom, I installed my new controller today. Everything looked good and all zones tested fine. It was scheduled to water my trees this evening at sunset and I happened to check it two hours later and it was still running.  So much for saving water!  I can't find a way in the app to turn off zones or even tell if it is currently watering. I had to unplug the controller in order to get it to stop. This doesn't look too promising. Now I just hope I don't get fined by the city for having so much water runoff going down the street. Any suggestions? It looks like I'll be returning this soon.

Anyone with a #Blossom "smart" irrigation controller note that you cannot use the smart watering feature yet and need to set fixed run times for all your schedules & zones.
Here is the reply I got back from +Blossom via email, just thought I would share:
"We appreciate your feedback and recognize that we are lacking a few things that we are working on right now.  We should have most of your requests done with 4-6 weeks. In the meantime here are a few options:
-turn off smart watering and set fix times for each zone until we enable smart watering times on our next upgrade
-we are adding a turn-off button to the app. In the meantime any real time control (test valves or run sprinklers) will over ride the schedule program and turn off your system
-upgrades on smart watering: Please see the attached document that shows how we will be exposing smart watering times. You will also get visibility into when and for how long was your last irrigation cycle and when will the next one be and for how long.
-Please let us know what is your current phone model and operating system version. We test on iPhones 5 and 6 and iOS 7 and 8. Also in a set of common Android phones.
-We are behind on our web version but we expect to have the first release by mid summer.
We will continue adding features and functionality to Blossom and can use all the feedback you can provide to steer our roadmap and solve open issues."

The only shocking thing is that none of those over-corrections lead to a rolled vehicle!

It's official!  And it looks like this new The Walking Dead spin-off is not really a spin-off but rather a "companion series".  They say it will show what's happening in "other parts of the zombie apocalypse", that being Los Angeles in this case.  This should be interesting!

The show’s first season will consist of six one-hour episodes and premiere on AMC in late summer. The show’s second season will air in 2016.

Pretty soon this show is going to be like CSI. There will be a Walking Dead Miami and Walking Dead Special Victims Unit Alaska.

+Blossom, how flexible is the scheduling of your controller without having to manually adjust it each month?  Our area has current water restrictions of watering on a certain day of the week but only once every other week.  Is this controller capable of doing that without having to adjust it constantly?

Chromebook Pixel Giveaway
We love everything Google here at The Gooru, and what’s more Google than the all-new Chromebook Pixel?!?! The New Chromebook Pixel has a ton of increased specs over the first version, with 8GB of RAM, i5-5200U Processor, and the brand-new USB Type-C charger. We were lucky enough to have the new Pixel given to us, but we really want to give it away to our audience as a thank you!
