I wish HTML5 could already replace flash.
Even when HTML5 is fully capable of replacing Flash, it will take years for developers to abandon Flash - if ever.
+Seth Rosenblatt That's not necessarily true. Developers can be convinced to abandon Flash when either the most popular browsers stop supporting it, or the non-Flash supporting devices (such as tablets) become significant enough that it would be a waste of time for developers to use Flash.

Of course, this may be one of those chicken/egg things, but there are fewer entities in charge of the browsers than in charge of the developers. So, browser and/or OS makers have the ultimate say in this. They have to make the tough decision to pull the plug.
