Words to live by. Especially for those working in education.

"If we get past this lazy, dangerous ideology of carrots and sticks, we can strengthen our businesses, solve a lot of problems, and maybe, maybe we can change the world."
Career analyst Dan Pink examines the puzzle of motivation, starting with a fact that social scientists know but most managers don't: Traditional rewards aren't always as effective as we think. Listen for illuminating stories — and maybe, a way forward.

Gotta get my short game going. "The best way to change long-term behavior is with short-term feedback...Advances turn more heads than royalty streams do." +Seth Godin
The best way to change long-term behavior is with short-term feedback. The opposite is not true. We rarely change short-term behavior with long-term feedback. That's why sanctions rarely work well in international politics, and why cigarette taxes are the best...

Learning to have a better relationship with failure and actually use it towards greater success, what a concept!

"this idea that we can achieve cleansing, that we can make our situation better, by the expulsion of some individual is remarkably persistent" ..."So if failure happens, all we’re teaching people to do is to sweep failure under the carpet, to hide mistakes and direct blame elsewhere. What we’re not doing is learning." – Ian Malpass

"Your ancestor called it magic, you call it science. I come from a land where they're one and the same" Pretty awesome and bloody interesting. Wish I learned about science in this way. Maybe then I'd remember more of it.

"Would you rather have impressive goals and embarrassing results or embarrassing goals and impressive results?"
Mini habits are small, positive behaviors you can do to change your life. They're too small to fail, but generate enough of a spark to create success.

You have got to be kidding me #America
Going without the social network prompts people to call 911 - only to get a chilly response.

Introduction
I solve interesting problems.

I connect people with technology so that they can do more of what they care about without computers getting in their way.

I work at getting people out of their own way so they can create better images of themselves.

Its so refreshing to order Chinese food and be greeted by a smile in this neighborhood. Janet the cashier, was so nice and friendly while I ordered. The egg rolls here are by far the best around, they were fresh, crisp, and you could actually taste the ingredients. They tasted like they were freshly made, unlike the greasy, overcooked, gummy-tasting ones you'll get from other places around here. The dishes are tasty and well-prepared. This is one Chinese food restaurant in this area that actually cares about serving its customers. Hopefully people will appreciate good food and good service and dont abuse the people who work there.
