Also, the "Downloading from the Windows Store" message when installing the Ubuntu userspace is a total lie. It is literally downloading a tar.gz of the rootfs and a .ico file from an Azure server. The Microsoft Store has nothing to do with it.

+Matthew Evans Mircosoft announced at BUILD they had created a linux syscall translator that allows running a linux binaries natively (i.e. no recompile or virutalization needed) on Windows 10. The userspace they offer with the feature is Ubuntu, but I'm demonstrating it can be done with Fedora as well.Apr 8, 2016
