Let me start by saying that I was native to NYC and was a survivor of the 9/11 attacks. As a result, I am disabled, and use a service dog. I have been on a visit back to New York since yesterday. When I went to this restaurant today (after having no problem at The Met or Radio City Music Hall.) I was met with an incredibly unfriendly reception. I was first asked for my "Certification Card", which according to the Americans With Disabilities Act is a sham and not required. When I told the manager this and instead produced a signed letter from my psychologist, he still insisted on the card and asked how he was supposed to know whether or not the letter was fake. At this point, he has asked for far more than the ADA requires and has learned the EXACT nature of my disabilities, which I'm not required to share with total strangers. These are disabilities that I have worked on for 15 years and he has the audacity to call them fake. After a lot of my mother and I telling him that what he was asking and how he was behaving was illegal, he submits and tells us he will give us a table. Mind you, my service dog (a huge German Shepherd), has not moved from my left side the whole time. We are shown to a very ill conceived dining room on the second floor when there is plenty of seating on the much nicer first floor, but after this deplorable treatment we didn't even stay to order drinks. I am appalled at this treatment and will never be returning to this restaurant even if I have no other choice. Disgusting behavior.

Great place to go with a group. My group of 8 had a great time. We were seated promptly in the large upstairs dining room even though it was clearly a busy night there. Food and service were superb, highly recommend. Very authentic dishes, good selections and variety and prices.

If I could give no stars, I would. We found this place through a Google search of places to eat near our location. Having lived in New York for forty years, I knew it was going to be expensive due to it's Madison Avenue location. What I did not foresee was the shoddy treatment right at the door. My adult child has mostly hidden disabilities but does require the use of a service dog. We have a highly trained and competent German Shepherd who stood there like a pro in her vest and boots (NYC streets can be hell on a working dog) through the entire nasty exchange with the gentleman at the door. Certainly her behavior along with the letter and our word was enough to know she was genuine. He questioned the letter from the therapist saying it could possibly be fake implying that my adult child's disabilities (some since birth) were not real. After a rather back and forth about ADA regulations and what he could and could not ask, they sat us on the third floor in a not as nice dining room as downstairs. He made it clear after his offensive, contemptible behavior that he wanted to make it clear he was seating us. We couldn't concentrate on the menu and left. I would have left at the door but left it up to my adult child to make the decision. He needs more customer service skills and needs to know that all disabilities are not necessarily visible. I will never set foot in Serafina Fabulous Pizza again.

Tasty food, but poor service. Had to ask for water 3 times, not once were our drinks refilled during the meal (server did not even offer), had to ask for plates on which to eat our pizza, multiple nearby tables (who arrived after us) received their food first.

The Gnocchi my wife ordered was extremely overcooked. But what made this harder for her to eat was the cockroach that crossed our table when the appetizer plates were taken away. The staff was truly mortified, but merely provided a dessert as compensation. More food from this kitchen was not appreciated. While I feel confident that the bug was an anomaly, no one asked if we were okay, changed the table cloth, or even brought a new napkin to replace the one my wife killed the roach in. Yes, the staff was flustered, but the meal was expensive, and our meal was ruined.

Horrible. We waited over 50 minutes for 3 pasta dishes! The waiter said they were busy. It was a Saturday night and there were empty tables. They couldn't be that busy. Even if they were I expect a NYc restaurant to be able to keep up. We will never be back.

Terrible experience! After a long wait one pizza came cold and the other one was the wrong pizza! Definitely not worth the wait or the money, very disappointing

Everytime I come to New York I eat at Serafina the linguini vongole with tomato sauce and a bresaola as apetizer they taste as really Italian food. The food is excellent and there are a wide selection to pick, average price for a New York dinner. Not suited for strollers, you have take stairs to a second or third floor, but grown kids should be fine.
