Thank you for taking the time & writing this review. I remember you and your father very well and while I am sorry that you feel this way, for what is worth, I wanted to share our perspective with you and other on-line readers:
We do in fact have a very stringent Pre-Purchase Inspection process and a very high standard of quality since our clients expect nothing less than that from us so when we appraise a trade-in with a potential to keep it for our inventory & resale it, we look at it with a very careful eye to make sure it meets our standards & expectations and if it does not, we will wholesale the car and not keep it for retail and as such we can’t afford to offer you the money you would like to get for your trade.
We simply indicated to you the appearance of an oil leak from the transmission and in fact it was us who recommended to you to take your car to CARMAX and sell it to them. We did not even want your car as a trade-in since your Lexus was out of the factory warranty.
I am terribly sorry that we could not offer you the trade-in value you expected to have but If our intentions were not sincere, why would we have recommended and insisted on you NOT to trade-in your car with us and simply sell it to CARMAX? In fact we even offered you a discount on the Sales Price of our car if we did not have to deal with your trade-in.
Over the past 29 years in business, we have enjoyed enormous success and support from our clients and our “5 STAR” ratings all across the board is evidence of our never ending commitment to our clients complete satisfaction with our cars, the quality, the value and the overall purchase experience.
I regret we could not accommodate you in the same manner but we appreciate your feedback nonetheless.
