From Lavatory to Spa!
I really haven't been a great friend have I? This blog has been terribly neglected! Trying to strictly blog about knitting doesn't work when I have so many other things that I'm doing & I often times would also like to blog about. So why not spice it up with what's really going on in my world! My blog won't be so neglected and we can start having fun over here!
My bathroom was just way to clinical! It was glove-test clean! No color. With the exception of one candle; no coziness. Just not really inviting. I love the minimalist look, but I had taken it way too far. Even my linens were white! So yesterday I decided...
...that it was time for a make-over!
In an effort to continue to maintain a very clean look but bring in a little chic, I went with wood and linen tones.
Aahhh! I think I'm going to hang out in here a bit more now!

Rainy Day Knitting is the Best!
I've finished knitting the back and now I'm onto the front of my top. I haven't posted any real WIP photos, so I thought I would pluck a couple off of Instagram. I usually can't wait to photography the growth of my knitting. I love looking at you guys WIP photos and I love taking my own. However, this time, I'm knitting quicker and haven't really reached for the camera much. But I'm looking forward to snapping photos of the finished project.
On a side note; my hands look terribly dry in the haze of this photo. I can assure you they weren't. LOL!
It's a good simple knit. I needed one of these since my last couple of projects have been more intensive.
Quick and easy knits are definitely must dos and I will be knitting more of them!

Cables and Eyelets!
Well, it's finally done and I'm very proud of it! Here I am in the Eyelet & Cable Pullover from Vogue Knitting Fall 2005.
I finished it July 3rd and got extremely lucky that July 4th morning was quite crisp. I had to wake up early to get these pics. The hot weather did not take long to roll in.
Instead of knitting the front and back in two pieces, I knit this in the round. It worked out great that way! Less seaming!
I love texture and intricate patterns. This sweater has it all. This will definitely be my favorite sweater this coming fall/winter!
I think blogs are a lot more interesting when you see the publisher in front of the camera. So you'll be seeing a lot more of me from here on.

Back on Track!
Ok I believe the difference is clear. A much cleaner version. Anyways, now I'm back on track, so hopefully I will have real progress to show really soon!
Well, the yarn I originally chose was a bit too fuzzy for the project at hand. The beautiful stitch pattern was getting lost in all the long fibers. I really like this yarn. It's soft and has a nice hand. It will be better suited for something less stitch intensive. However, I managed to find a yarn very similar in color. This wool blend will do the trick.

In a Winter Frame of Mind!
I had to temporarily put summer knits aside. My brain switched off all things Summer and instantly, just like that, I'm in Fall/Winter mode. It's all about cozy knitting now. Warm, soft, fuzzy woolies will be hanging off of my needles for the next few months. I've started with this beautiful piece from Vogue. It has everything. Ribs, cables, eyelets...
This is coming along nice and quickly. I've wanted to knit this sweater for sometime. I've decided to knit this in the round. Looks like I'll be wearing it this winter! I just purchased this wool a few hours ago and, as you see, I'm having a blast with it already. Perfect way to spend my Sunday. I suspect I'll be up late tonight! :-)

Summer Knit!
I couldn't let this summer go by without making at least one great summer piece. Well, here it is. I received my Wool and The Gang "Uma" kit in the mail and I'm about to start workin!
I fell in love with this the moment I laid eyes on it! I need this in my life in that exact color!

This will be a quick knit, so I will be posting photos pretty soon. There's still time to get plenty of wear out of this piece this summer.
Can't wait!

Third Time's the Charm!
After having to start knitting this sweater from the beginning for the third time, I just didn't want to see it anymore. However, a I picked it back up and we've been getting along ever since. Technically, I started knitting this Dec 16th. That makes me feel better. ;-) I love that I can feel my progress in the loftiness of this piece. The heavier it gets, the more proud I become. :-)
I promise that the next post on this sweater will be showing you the completed project! At the pace I've been working on it lately, that won't be too long. I promise!

Progress
Coming along. It’s been rough. I’ve had to correct a few mistakes, but I’m persevering.
I don't want to think about how far I could have gotten if I didn't have to make corrections! No. We don't think about that!

Time For a Change!
Change has come. I've created a new home here online that will reflect my new attitude. Those of you who have been following me know that my previous blogging has primarily been about my machine-knitting ventures. Well...I've sold my knitting machine and I'm strictly hand-knitting now!!
After knitting Dayflower I was bitten by the hand-knitting bug all over again. It was my first non-MK piece in quite some time. Too much time! As much as I enjoyed my machine, most of the time, I just wanted to sit and create, not operate a machine. Needless to say, not much knitting was done. Also, I've freed myself up from limitations; width and stitch patterns being the biggest two. No more limitations! The machines do a lot and they do it well, but designers should never have limitations! ;-) Furthermore, in order to design and sell patterns, I need a much larger and more diverse community than the KM community offers. Another limitation. I've got so many designs running around in my head that I can actually knit out the way I want to. My needles have taken the place of my knitter, ribber, color-changer, lace carriage, linker, ect... I'm sure the question is "Why not just do both?" I would suggest the very same thing to anyone doing one and thinking of doing the other. However, being the true Gemini that I am, I need to be unidirectional in order to get anything done. I might add, I was very good at MK while I was doing it. I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my work, so most of my attention is usually consumed by the project at hand. Leaving my hooks and needles waiting patiently. I've always connected more with hand-knitters than the MK group. Hand-knitters are...well...you guys are the cool kids. LOL! I just have more fun in those groups and I'm happy to say that I'm exclusively a part of that group as well.
This is what I'm working on right now. It's my own design. I'm squeezing in a breezy knit before the last of the hot days. Yes, I know I'm quite late. Where has summer gone. It's going to be a simple, airy halter. So it should be a quick knit. At this rate...it better be! :-) Also, I know I left off knitting a beautiful striped maxi. It turned out too heavy and long. I have already purchased tiny thread and tiny needles to get right back on that project. Hmmm...I could even knit it in the round! ;-)
